The 2023 Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory is a road-oriented naked sportbike that pairs a more upright riding position than the RS 660 with adjustable suspension, a claimed 100-hp parallel twin and an extensive electronics package. In webBikeWorld’s ride review, it stood out for comfort, balance and twisty-road ability, though the reviewer also found its interface and some controls less polished. These are reviewers’ impressions and period claimed specifications, not independent test measurements.
What makes the 2023 Tuono 660 Factory different?
The Factory is the sportier, more highly equipped version of the Tuono 660, not simply a standard model with different graphics. For 2023, webBikeWorld describes a fully adjustable KYB fork and adjustable Sachs rear shock; MotorcycleDaily also points to the Factory’s suspension adjustment and shorter final drive. MotorcycleDaily says the Factory’s claimed output is five horsepower higher than the standard Tuono 660.
The result is a middleweight naked bike with sporting hardware, but an intended road-use character rather than the more committed posture of a fully faired sportbike. The word “Factory” should not be treated as a guarantee of the same component specification across model years: Aprilia’s currently published Factory page lists Öhlins suspension and higher output, which does not match the equipment described by the 2023 reviews.
2023 engine and reported specifications
For the 2023 model, webBikeWorld reports a 659cc, 270-degree parallel twin with claimed output of 100 hp at 10,500 rpm and 67 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm. Those are manufacturer-style claimed figures as reported by the review, not results measured independently for this article. MotorcycleDaily also reports 100 hp and describes a six-speed transmission and lithium battery.

How it rides: upright comfort without losing its sporting edge
webBikeWorld characterizes the Tuono as a “sit-up sportsbike” in concept, describing handlebars that sit higher and farther back than the RS 660’s. The reviewer found the position more comfortable and versatile while still allowing spirited riding. That is one reviewer’s on-road assessment, not a controlled ergonomic comparison.

The same review describes the suspension as taut but says the seat and bars help keep the bike comfortable. On twisty roads, the reviewer praised its balance, handling and ability to adapt between everyday road use and a more committed pace. MotorcycleDaily offers a complementary engine impression, describing a smooth, refined powerplant with useful midrange as well as top-end performance.
Neither review’s praise makes the Tuono a mild beginner bike. The upright posture and 659cc capacity may sound approachable, but the reported output and sporting character deserve respect; rider suitability depends on experience, training and conditions, not displacement alone.

Electronics and controls
The reviews describe a broad rider-aid package built around a six-axis inertial measurement unit. Reported functions include cornering- or lean-sensitive ABS, traction control, wheelie control, ride modes, a quickshifter, cruise control, engine mapping and engine-braking adjustment. Exact availability and behavior can depend on market specification, so check the manual and equipment fitted to the particular bike.
More features do not necessarily mean simpler operation. Both webBikeWorld and MotorcycleDaily report that the menus or mode adjustments were not intuitive for their reviewers. webBikeWorld also criticized the TFT’s small-looking presentation, switchgear feel and cruise-control usability. A prospective rider should spend time with the controls while stationary and confirm that the display and adjustment process suit their preferences.

How it compares with the RS 660 and other middleweights
Tuono 660 Factory versus RS 660
The supported distinction is primarily posture and road orientation: webBikeWorld describes the Tuono’s bars as higher and farther rearward than the RS 660’s, with a more practical front fairing. That points to a more upright road position, but the available reviews do not establish a comprehensive same-day performance ranking between the two.
Other middleweight naked bikes
MotorcycleDaily names the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and Yamaha MT-07 in an output comparison, while webBikeWorld lists the Yamaha MT-07 and Kawasaki Z650 among competitors. These are contextual mentions, not controlled head-to-head tests. The reviews do not support calling the Tuono a universal winner; a useful comparison should match model year and market, then weigh riding position, claimed engine output, suspension adjustability, electronics and local pricing.

Aprilia’s currently published Tuono 660 Factory technical page lists 105 HP at 10,400 rpm, 70 Nm at 8,400 rpm and fully adjustable Öhlins suspension. By contrast, the period 2023 reviews describe 100 hp and KYB/Sachs suspension. The current page also lists 181 kg wet weight, an 820 mm seat and a 15-litre tank, but those current-page details should not be used as proof of the 2023 configuration. Check the model year shown on the relevant documentation rather than transferring later specifications to an earlier bike.
What the reviews praise—and what they question
- Strengths reported by reviewers: comfortable, relatively upright ergonomics; a capable chassis and adjustable suspension; adaptable road manners; and an engine reviewers found engaging across its rev range.
- Reservations reported by reviewers: controls and menu navigation that take learning, a TFT presentation webBikeWorld found underwhelming, switchgear feel, and cruise-control usability.
US pricing is not included here because the two 2023 reviews give conflicting MSRP figures: webBikeWorld lists $10,699, while MotorcycleDaily lists $10,999. Neither figure is established as the correct year- and market-specific official price by the available material.
