The available evidence does not establish it as the ultimate sports sedan or verify its grand-touring comfort against rivals. Buyers should judge the individual car’s equipment, condition and driving needs rather than rely on a universal ranking.

The 0.1-second difference is Lexus’ stated estimate, not a result from an independent comparison test of both 2022 versions. These figures alone do not show that one configuration is faster in every condition. If you regularly drive on snow or other low-traction surfaces, AWD may be a useful fit, but it does not eliminate the need for appropriate tires or careful driving.

What F SPORT means for handling and equipment
F SPORT is not a guarantee that every IS 350 has the same handling hardware. Equipment depends on market and configuration, so check the window sticker or build information for the car being considered—especially for suspension, drive modes and wheel equipment.
Dynamic Handling Package and Canadian trims
In Canada, Lexus listed the IS 350 AWD F SPORT 2 and F SPORT 3. Its Canadian announcement says the F SPORT 3 adds a Dynamic Handling Package with Adaptive Variable Suspension, 19-inch forged BBS wheels and SPORT+ mode. Those are Canadian configuration details; the F SPORT 2 and F SPORT 3 names should not be treated as U.S. trim names or assumed to describe every U.S. F SPORT. Wheels and replacement tires
Lexus specifies 19-inch wheels for the F SPORT and a larger rear tire size, including 265/35R19. Before buying replacement tires, verify the complete size and required load index and speed rating on the vehicle, then check for wheel changes or other modifications. The specification is a useful starting point for a “265/35R19 replacement tire” search, not a recommendation for a particular brand or model.
Driver-assistance features and convenience changes
Lexus says the 2022 IS comes standard with Lexus Safety System+ 2.5. The manufacturer lists pre-collision functions, radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, intelligent high beams and road sign assist. These are driver-assistance features: the driver remains responsible for controlling the car and responding to road conditions. Read the owner’s manual for system limits and operation.

For 2022, the IS 350 F SPORT RWD and AWD offered a new Memory Package. It includes memory settings for the driver’s seat, outside mirrors and steering wheel, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, and reverse-tilting mirrors. A power rear sunshade was a separate option. These changes do not mean every used example has either feature; confirm the original equipment on the specific vehicle.
How quick is it, and what independent test data is available?
Lexus quotes 5.6 seconds from 0 to 60 mph for the 2022 RWD IS 350 and 5.7 seconds for AWD. Car and Driver’s published instrumented result is for a 2021 IS 350 F SPORT RWD: 5.6 seconds to 60 mph. That prior-model-year result is useful context, but it is not an independent 2022 test or an AWD result. The publication’s IS page also lists EPA estimates of 20 mpg city, 28 highway and 23 combined for that 2021 RWD entry, plus 26 mpg observed in its test vehicle. Those figures should not be presented as 2022 AWD results or as an owner average.

It is worth considering if you want a luxury sport sedan with a naturally aspirated V6 and value a choice of drivetrains. The best fit depends on whether RWD or AWD suits your driving, and whether the car has the handling and convenience equipment you expect. Check the window sticker, tire setup and vehicle condition; do not assume that a package or feature shown on another market’s version is included on the car for sale.
