The Rimac C_Two was the concept and development name for the electric hypercar that Rimac unveiled in production-ready form as the Nevera on June 1, 2021. Its defining idea was not just extreme speed: four independently driven wheels, software-managed torque, active aerodynamics and a broad sensor suite made the C_Two a technology showcase as well as a performance-car project.
What was the Rimac C_Two?
Rimac Automobili unveiled the C_Two (also styled C Two or Concept Two) at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show. It was a concept under development, not a separate production model. After a development program that included pre-series production and homologation work, Rimac introduced its production-ready iteration as the Nevera on June 1, 2021. The company said the production car’s systems had been refined during development.
That timeline matters when reading the car’s specifications: the numbers announced for the 2018 C_Two were concept-launch claims, while later Nevera figures describe a production model or a current product-page listing. They are not automatically comparable measurements.
How fast and powerful was the C_Two supposed to be?
At the C_Two’s 2018 unveiling, Rimac announced 1,914 hp (1,408 kW), 2,300 Nm of torque, a 412 km/h (258 mph) top speed, a 120 kWh battery and a 550 km WLTP range. These were manufacturer-announced figures for the concept, not independently verified results.

Rimac also listed acceleration figures of 0–60 mph in 1.85 seconds, 0–100 mph in 4.3 seconds, 0–300 km/h in 11.8 seconds and a quarter-mile in 9.1 seconds. The release marked those figures with asterisks; they should be understood as claims from the launch announcement, not as independently measured test results.
How did its four-motor drivetrain work?
The C_Two used four electric motors, with one motor driving each wheel. Rimac’s All-Wheel Torque Vectoring system, abbreviated R-AWTV, was designed to manage how torque reached the individual wheels and to coordinate all-wheel-drive behavior and stability functions.
Rimac said the system could vary its emphasis from maximum grip to rear-wheel-drive dynamics. That describes the manufacturer’s intended software control strategy; it does not by itself establish how the car behaved in independent road or track testing.
What technology sat behind the performance claims?
Battery, structure and thermal management
Rimac described the C_Two’s 120 kWh battery as an integrated part of a carbon-fibre monocoque structure. The announced construction also included a bonded carbon roof and aluminium crash structures. The company gave the battery a 1.4 MW power figure and said its thermal-management system was designed to sustain high performance.
Rimac claimed the car could complete two Nürburgring laps at full power with negligible performance drop. That is a manufacturer claim from the 2018 announcement, rather than a result independently established by the cited material.

Active aerodynamics and braking
The concept’s aerodynamic package included active hood flaps, a flat floor, an active rear venturi and an adjustable rear wing that could also act as an air brake. Rimac also specified regenerative braking of up to 150 kW and 390 mm Brembo CCMR carbon-ceramic discs with six-piston calipers at both the front and rear.
Sensors and the Driving Coach
Rimac’s 2018 description listed eight cameras, one lidar sensor, six radar emitters and twelve ultrasonic sensors. The company described the hardware as “Level 4 autonomous ready,” but that phrase does not establish that the C_Two was a certified Level 4 autonomous vehicle.
A separate announced feature, the Driving Coach, was intended to overlay selected racetracks and provide guidance on racing lines and braking points. It was presented as driver assistance for track use, not as a substitute for the driver.
How did the C_Two become the Nevera?
Rimac’s development announcements show the shift from concept targets to a production-ready car. On December 21, 2020, the company said pre-series production had begun ahead of a planned 2021 launch. Rimac called the targets ambitious and said development and testing had met or exceeded them. On March 15, 2021, it reported final-stage global homologation work and climate testing of a pre-series prototype, with durability and product evaluation still to come.
In its June 1, 2021 launch announcement, Rimac called the Nevera the production iteration of the C_Two. The company announced a plan to make 150 examples and described the Nevera as a €2 million hypercar. Those are launch-era statements: the announced unit plan is not proof of the final number delivered, and the launch price is not a current quote.

Rimac’s climate-testing release reported chamber conditions of 48°C (118°F) and −28°C (−4°F) for a pre-series prototype. In the same testing account, the company said the cabin was cooled from 70°C (158°F) to 22°C (72°F). These are reported test conditions and a result for that prototype, not a general real-world guarantee.

Rimac’s current Nevera product page, accessed October 7, 2026, lists several figures that differ from the 2018 concept announcement. The page is changeable, and its Nevera R figures refer to a separate variant.

| Power | 1,914 hp (1,408 kW) | 1.4 MW; 1,914 hp |
| Torque | 2,300 Nm | 2,340 Nm |
| Acceleration | 0–60 mph in 1.85 seconds; 0–100 mph in 4.3 seconds; 0–300 km/h in 11.8 seconds; quarter-mile in 9.1 seconds. Rimac marked these launch figures with asterisks. | 0–100 km/h in 1.81 seconds |

| Battery capacity | 120 kWh | 120 kWh |
| Range | 550 km WLTP | Not stated on the cited product-page figures |
The 2018 and current figures come from different dates and contexts, and the acceleration figures use different conventions. The comparison is useful for tracking the concept-to-production story, but it is not an apples-to-apples independent test. The Nevera R listing is separate: Rimac’s page shows 2,107 hp and 1.72 seconds for 0–100 km/h, and those figures should not be attributed to the standard Nevera.
Why did the C_Two stand out as a tech car?
The C_Two’s significance was the integration of control software with its hardware. Four motors created the ability to vary torque at each wheel; sensors and software were intended to support stability functions and track guidance; and active aerodynamic parts could change how the car managed airflow and braking. Rimac paired those systems with a high-capacity battery, a carbon-fibre structure and a grand-touring brief rather than presenting the project as a motor-and-battery experiment alone.
The distinction between ambition and demonstrated outcome remains important. Rimac’s announcements document what the company designed, targeted and later presented as the Nevera, but they are company sources rather than independent verification of performance records or comparative tests.
