The 2020 Triumph Street Triple R is a 765cc, Euro 5-compliant three-cylinder roadster rated at 118 PS and 77 Nm. It was also offered as a Low Ride Height (LRH) version with a 780 mm seat height. Before buying a used example, check its 17-digit VIN for open safety campaigns: Triumph’s 2020 recall notice names the Street Triple R in a front brake-pad recall, but only a VIN check can establish whether an individual motorcycle is affected or whether repairs are complete.
2020 Street Triple R specifications
Triumph’s model-year 2020 specifications describe a 765cc, three-cylinder engine meeting Euro 5 requirements. The manufacturer lists output and key equipment as follows:

These are Triumph’s published model-year specifications, not independent instrumented test results. Triumph also says the engine has seven percent less rotational inertia than its predecessor.
What the riding modes change
The R has Road, Rain and Sport modes. Rain mode limits peak power to 100 PS; Triumph describes the setting as intended to give a better feel and smoother ride. The manufacturer’s published figure does not establish a measured difference in acceleration or stopping distance.

Standard seat height versus Low Ride Height
The standard version has an 825 mm seat height. Triumph’s Low Ride Height (LRH) version is listed at 780 mm, a 45 mm reduction. The company attributes the lower height to a dedicated suspension setup and revised seat construction, so changing only the seat should not be assumed to reproduce the LRH specification.
Check the front brake recall by VIN
Triumph’s June 26, 2020 recall notice, identified as SRAN579 and NHTSA 20V236, includes the 2020 Street Triple R. It describes a possible separation of front brake-pad friction material from the backing plate. The model’s presence in the notice does not mean every 2020 R is affected.

- Find the motorcycle’s 17-digit VIN in its handbook or on the chassis plate in the headstock area.
- Enter the VIN in Triumph’s recall lookup. Triumph says the lookup covers campaigns published from January 1, 2001 onward.
- If the lookup shows an outstanding safety recall, contact a Triumph dealer promptly. Ask the dealer to confirm whether the campaign applies and whether the repair has been completed.
A model-level notice cannot confirm a particular bike’s status. Verify both applicability and repair history before treating the recall as resolved.
Genuine accessories and fitment
Triumph’s 2020 model page described more than 60 genuine accessories for personalisation, protection, comfort and style. Examples included paddock stand bobbins, a fly screen visor, heated grips, luggage, a tail tidy, a seat cowl, a belly pan and an Arrow slip-on silencer. That historical list does not establish current stock or fitment for every variant.

If shopping for paddock stand bobbins, search for Triumph Street Triple bobbins and confirm the exact 2020 R or LRH fitment, product listing and compatibility with your stand before purchase. The examples above do not establish aftermarket interchangeability or compatibility with any particular marketplace listing.

For operating, maintenance and care instructions, use the relevant model handbook from Triumph’s official handbook library. Follow the instructions for the specific motorcycle rather than applying generalized service advice.

What to verify when comparing or buying one
When comparing a 2020 Street Triple R with another motorcycle or variant, use published, checkable points: engine output and torque, standard or LRH seat height, suspension adjustability, brake specification, rider aids and modes, and the VIN-specific status of any applicable recall. Triumph’s specifications alone do not establish a best-in-class result, used-market value or ownership reliability rate.
