“2020 Land Rover Defender by HIMALAYA” is not a confirmed name for a specific HIMALAYA vehicle. HIMALAYA’s published examples describe custom classic Defender 110 builds, while Land Rover’s 2020 Defender was the new-generation D7x model. The builder’s pages do not identify a 2020 factory Defender donor, VIN, or model year for the featured conversions. Here is what the listings establish—and what they do not.
Is there a 2020 Land Rover Defender by HIMALAYA?
Not as a specifically identified vehicle in the available HIMALAYA listings. The company documents a Defender 110 Summit 2.0 and a separate Defender 110 called HUE I66. Neither listing says that the vehicle is a factory 2020 Defender, and the sources do not establish that either is the exact vehicle meant by the phrase “2020 Land Rover Defender by HIMALAYA.”
The distinction matters because “2020 Defender” refers to Land Rover’s new-generation model, while HIMALAYA’s cited listings describe custom classic Defender conversions. Without a donor-year statement or VIN, it is not accurate to call either conversion a 2020 factory Defender.

What engine is in a HIMALAYA Defender?
It depends on the build. Summit 2.0 is listed with a supercharged GM LT4, but the page does not give a horsepower figure. HIMALAYA’s separate HUE I66 listing specifies a supercharged LT4 rated at 650 hp and an eight-speed transmission. That 650-hp claim belongs to HUE I66; it should not be assigned to Summit 2.0 or to every HIMALAYA Defender.

HIMALAYA identifies HUE I66 as a Defender 110 in Grasmere Green and lists four-link coil-over suspension, Dynatrac axles, custom Brembo brakes, BF Goodrich tires, custom fender flares, a backup camera, Puma hood and dash, folding side steps, touchscreen audio, and power windows. Its description says the modern platform retains classic Defender exterior styling. These details belong to HUE I66, not automatically to Summit 2.0.

How it differs from the factory 2020 Defender
Jaguar Land Rover announced the new 2020 Defender on September 10, 2019. The U.S. launch announcement describes the D7x all-aluminum architecture and two launch-era powertrains: the P300 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and P400 3.0-liter mild-hybrid inline-six. Those factory specifications are not specifications for the HIMALAYA builds above.
For the factory Defender 110, JLR reported 11.5 inches (291 mm) of ground clearance and approach, breakover, and departure angles of 38°, 28°, and 40°, respectively, in Off-Road height with the tow-eye cover removed. These figures apply to that stated factory configuration, not a HIMALAYA conversion.

HIMALAYA’s commissioning guide describes a consultation-led process rather than a fixed, off-the-shelf specification. It says customers discuss body style and drivetrain, considers Defender 90, 110, and 130 platforms, and reviews general price and scope. The guide states that a 10% deposit reserves a build slot.

- Review the project’s general scope and price with the builder.
- Use the configurator to select chassis, engine, paint, and interior, then submit an inquiry.
- If proceeding, confirm the build terms directly; HIMALAYA’s guide describes a 10% deposit to reserve a slot.
HIMALAYA says its vehicles are manufactured in Charleston, South Carolina. The guide and configurator do not publish a fixed price for a “2020 Land Rover Defender by HIMALAYA,” nor do they establish the cost, lead time, availability, or referral terms for Summit 2.0 or HUE I66. Ask the builder to confirm the donor vehicle’s year and identity, exact specification, current availability, total price, and delivery timeline before treating a listing as a vehicle for sale.
