Nissan’s lineup maximums were 12,710 pounds of towing and 2,990 pounds of payload when properly equipped; neither number applies to every Titan XD. Use the exact truck’s labels and the owner’s manual to verify its limits.
2019 Titan XD grades and configurations
Nissan offered five grades, but not every engine, cab and drivetrain combination was available with every grade. Check the specific truck’s build information and the brochure’s equipment and configuration matrix before treating a feature as standard.

The Midnight Edition was a documented appearance package for diesel Crew Cab SV and SL 4×4 models. Nissan listed darkened exterior trim and headlamps, black wheels and badging, body-color bumpers and black interior trim. Confirm package content on the individual truck.
Engines and drivetrains
The gas engine was Nissan’s 5.6-liter Endurance V8; the diesel was a 5.0-liter Cummins V8 turbo diesel. The range included 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrains, with availability varying by cab and grade. Nissan’s 2019 press kit describes the model range and its equipment.

Cab styles, bed lengths and dimensions
Crew Cab and King Cab models have a 78.7-inch bed; the Single Cab has a 98.5-inch bed. All three share a listed overall bed width of 63.8 inches, 50.0 inches between the wheel wells, and 20.8 inches of bed depth.

Nissan’s brochure lists overall length as 242.7 inches for Crew Cab and 230.5 inches for King Cab; the PRO-4X figures are 243.6 and 231.3 inches respectively. Height and some dimensions also vary by grade and configuration. See the brochure’s dimension tables for the exact combination.

2019 Titan XD towing and payload ratings
The following are Nissan brochure maximums by cab and drivetrain, shown as gasoline/diesel. They are not guaranteed ratings for every truck in that category; actual capacity depends on equipment and the vehicle’s specific limits.

The brochure’s table provides no Crew Cab 4×2 XD rating; do not infer one from another configuration. The 12,710-pound towing maximum is listed for a Single Cab 4×2 diesel, and the 2,990-pound payload maximum for a Single Cab 4×2 gas model. Nissan announced those lineup maxima as applying when properly equipped.

Why the hitch type matters
Nissan’s 2019 Titan Owner’s Manual has separate capacity charts for SAE J2807 weight-distributing Class 4 conventional hitches and gooseneck hitches. The figures differ by hitch type as well as cab, engine and drivetrain. For example, its conventional-hitch chart lists up to 12,710 pounds for a Single Cab diesel 2WD, while the gooseneck chart gives a different maximum for that broad configuration category. Consult the full chart that matches the hitch and truck.
Check the actual truck before towing
- Read the truck’s FMVSS/CMVSS certification label and do not exceed its GVWR.
- Match the owner’s-manual chart to the cab, engine, drivetrain and hitch type.
- Account for payload and the trailer’s loaded weight. Nissan notes that towing capacity is affected by vehicle payload, road grades and weather.
- Do not use a brochure maximum as a substitute for the limits on the specific vehicle and hitch.
2019 diesel updates and towing aids
Nissan identified a larger diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tank and an integrated gooseneck hitch with a plug inside the bed as 2019 updates. The company also listed an Integrated Trailer Brake Controller, Trailer Sway Control, Tow/Haul Mode with Downhill Speed Control and Trailer Light Check among available towing aids. Availability varied; verify equipment on the truck rather than assuming every grade included it.

Warranty statement for the 2019 model year
Nissan’s September 27, 2018 press kit stated that every 2019 TITAN XD was covered by its “America’s Best Truck Warranty,” with bumper-to-bumper coverage of five years or 100,000 miles, whichever came first. That was the original model-year warranty statement; it does not establish whether a particular used truck still has coverage.

What to compare when choosing between two Titan XD trucks
- Cab and bed: Crew, King or Single Cab; the Single Cab has the longest bed in the listed range.
- Engine: 5.6-liter gas V8 or 5.0-liter Cummins diesel V8.
- Drivetrain: 4×2 or 4×4, where offered.
- Grade and packages: confirm the actual equipment and any appearance or towing packages.
- Hitch and ratings: compare the applicable hitch-specific chart with the truck’s labels, not just the lineup maximum.
