The “2019 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3” is the 2018-Spec GT3 customer race car, not a 2019 road-going GT-R NISMO trim. NISMO announced it as a build-to-order racer with deliveries scheduled to begin around January 2019. Its published figures include a 3,799 cc VR38DETT engine, output over 405 kW / 550 PS and rear-wheel drive; power and weight figures carry NISMO’s FIA balance-of-performance qualification.
What does “2019 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3” mean?
NISMO’s specification sheet names the car the 2018-Spec GT-R NISMO GT3. The “2019” label refers to its customer delivery and racing context: Nissan/NISMO said deliveries would begin around January 2019. It was a build-to-order customer competition car, rather than a model-year road-car trim. Nissan/NISMO’s 2018 announcement and the NISMO GT3 product page establish that distinction.
It is also separate from the road-going 2019 GT-R NISMO. Nissan’s U.S. brochure lists that road car at 600 hp and 481 lb-ft, with all-wheel drive and a dual-clutch transmission. Those figures and components do not describe the GT3 racer. Nissan’s 2019 U.S. GT-R brochure covers the road model, while NISMO’s GT3 sheet specifies a rear-wheel-drive race car with a six-speed sequential gearbox.
2018-Spec GT-R NISMO GT3 specifications
NISMO’s published technical data gives the following specifications. The sheet marks output and weight with an asterisk and says figures may change according to FIA balance of performance (BoP), so treat them as manufacturer-published specifications rather than fixed results in every racing configuration. What changed in the 2018-Spec car?
NISMO describes the aerodynamic package as developed to improve vehicle stability and cooling. The cockpit was also redesigned: the seat was lowered to help lower the center of gravity while preserving forward visibility. A revised steering wheel and a renewed center-console switch-panel layout were intended to improve operability. NISMO’s product details
Driver cooling is not cabin air conditioning
The optional driver cooling system directs cool air to the helmet and seat. NISMO explicitly distinguishes it from a system that cools the cockpit interior, so it should not be described as race-car cabin air conditioning.

How it differs from the road-going 2019 GT-R NISMO
The two cars share the GT-R name, but serve different purposes and have different layouts. The road-car figures below come from Nissan’s U.S. brochure; the GT3 figures come from NISMO’s race-car specification sheet. Their power numbers should not be treated as a direct performance ranking: the GT3 output is qualified by FIA BoP, and the cars are specified for different uses.

Ordering, parts and customer support
NISMO’s historical materials describe the GT3 as build-to-order and list an official customer support program and a web parts ordering system. The technical sheet also names a primary parts package, driver cooling system and Nürburgring 24-hour special upgrade package. These records establish that NISMO offered those options in the context of the published car; they do not establish current parts stock, prices, regional support coverage or order terms. Is there a 2019 Nürburgring GT3 model car?
Nissan’s official shop listed a Kyosho-made 1/64 die-cast GT-R NISMO GT3 model in the 2019 Nürburgring 24 Hours livery. The historical listing was marked sold out when indexed, so it confirms the model’s existence, not current availability. Check the scale, livery and seller details before buying a listing elsewhere. What the published figures do—and do not—show
The technical specifications and delivery timing above are manufacturer or catalog information, not independent test results. The cited materials do not establish an independent performance study or a race-result statistic for this article, so they cannot support claims about lap times, acceleration, top speed or comparative race success.
