What the 2018 BMW M3 CS interior looks like
BMW’s US and UK launch descriptions identify the factory cabin’s signature combination as Silverstone/Black two-tone Merino leather and Alcantara. The contrast is carried across the front seats and rear bench, while Alcantara surfaces and CS identifiers distinguish the cabin from a more conventional M3 interior.
BMW’s US release describes the trim directly: “The interior’s exclusive trim strips are covered with Alcantara and feature prominent CS identifiers.” That describes the factory specification; a photo may show only some of those details, and an individual car’s equipment can vary by market and options.

Lightweight M sports seats
The front lightweight M sports seats are shared with the M3 Competition Package, according to BMW’s US launch specification. BMW also describes M stripes incorporated into the front seat belts, a small but distinctive detail to look for in close-up photos.

Two-tone rear bench
The rear seats retain the two-tone Silverstone/Black Merino leather treatment. The cabin therefore combines CS-specific visual cues at the front with a rear bench finished in the same palette.
CS-specific Alcantara trim and identifying details
- Trim strips: Alcantara-covered strips carry prominent CS identifiers.
- Center console: BMW describes a lightweight Alcantara center console.
- Door sills: The door-sill lettering identifies the M3 CS.
- Start/stop button: The button is red.
These details are useful when comparing images of an M3 CS with a standard M3 or an M3 fitted with the Competition Package. A single photo may not show every identifier, so use multiple cabin angles where available.

Steering wheel and retained cabin equipment
The steering wheel needs a market-specific qualification. BMW’s US release describes an anthracite Alcantara M sports steering wheel with a silver 12 o’clock marker as a cost option; the UK release calls the Alcantara steering wheel an optional M Performance item. Do not treat that wheel as standard equipment on every 2018 M3 CS.
The launch specifications also list comfort and technology equipment: automatic climate control, a specially adapted Harman Kardon surround system and Navigation System Professional. BMW’s UK release likewise describes climate control, Harman Kardon surround sound and Navigation System Professional as standard. Regional package details and terminology can differ, so check the market and original specification for a particular car.

BMW announced the first M3 CS on November 7, 2017. Its US launch release described planned worldwide limited production of approximately 1,200 units and said orders would be available starting May 2018. The production figure was an approximate launch-era announcement, not a confirmed final build count.
