The 2016 Victory Cross Country is the standard touring bagger—not the Cross Country 8-Ball, Magnum, or Cross Country Tour. For the standard model, Victory lists a 106 cu in (1,731 cc) V-twin, 5.8 US gal (22 L) fuel capacity, 795 lb (361 kg) wet weight, and 565 lb (256 kg) maximum load. Before buying parts or accessories, confirm the bike’s exact configuration, check the rear brake-line recall by VIN, and verify fitment against the owner’s manual.
2016 Victory Cross Country specifications
The figures below are for the standard Cross Country in the 2016 owner’s manual. They should not be substituted for measurements from the 8-Ball, Magnum, or Tour.

These figures come from the 2016 Victory Cross Country USA Owner’s Manual. The manufacturer’s French-market Cross Country page gives seat height as 66.7 cm, a small rounding difference from the manual’s 66.8 cm. Neither source establishes a reliable fuel-economy or range figure, so calculate range from your own riding conditions rather than the tank size alone.
How the Cross Country differs from related models
The 2016 manual covers four Cross Country-family configurations: Cross Country, Cross Country 8-Ball, Cross Country Tour, and Cross Country Magnum. They share a family name, but the manual assigns them distinct dimensions, weights, capacities, and load ratings. The seat-height differences shown above are one example; do not use a Tour or Magnum specification as if it applied to the standard Cross Country.

Victory’s 2016 Cross Country model page describes the motorcycle as a touring/bagger with fairing-integrated audio and 22-liter fuel capacity. For an individual bike, identify its exact variant and compare its equipment and measurements with the manual rather than relying on a listing that says only “Cross Country.”
Rear brake-line recall: check the bike by VIN
A Victory safety notice covers certain 2010–2017 motorcycles, including the Cross Country. It describes a risk that prolonged engine misfire could raise catalytic-converter temperature enough to melt a retention clip and damage the rear brake line. The notice directs owners to have an authorized Victory dealer improve the brake-line routing; it is not a DIY repair procedure.

- Find the motorcycle’s VIN and check whether the recall applies and whether the remedy is recorded as complete using NHTSA’s recall lookup or an authorized Victory dealer.
- If the bike is eligible and the repair is outstanding, arrange the routing repair with an authorized Victory dealer.
- Do not assume a 2016 model has already been repaired because of its age, and do not treat a general notice as confirmation of an individual bike’s status.
The Victory recall notice hosted by NHTSA says the repair “should take about one hour to perform and will be free of charge” and that the “procedure must be done only by an authorized Victory dealer.” Actual eligibility and completion must be checked by VIN. Accessories and maintenance: protect handling and wiring
The owner’s manual warns that accessories can affect stability, handling, ground clearance, visibility, control travel, rider position, and electrical capacity. Added load also counts toward the standard Cross Country’s 565 lb (256 kg) maximum load capacity, which includes riders, cargo, accessories, and options.

- Use genuine Victory parts and accessories designed for the specific model, and follow their supplied instructions. The manual states: “DO use ONLY genuine VICTORY parts and accessories designed for your model and follow the instructions provided.”
- Do not tap or splice vehicle wiring unless Victory instructions direct you to do so; unauthorized connections can compromise the electrical system.
- Check that accessories do not restrict steering or control movement, impair lights or visibility, reduce ground clearance, or force an unsafe riding position.
- Follow the manual’s maintenance schedule. For procedures beyond owner guidance, use the Victory Service Manual or consult an authorized dealer.
These precautions are in Polaris/Victory’s 2016 owner’s manual. A cruise-control installation, for example, should be assessed for exact kit compatibility and safe wiring; a parts list alone does not establish that an installation is suitable for every configuration.

RevZilla lists a Yuasa YTX20HL-BS AGM motorcycle battery as fitting the 2016 Victory Cross Country. The same retailer’s general fitment reference also names YTX20L-BS and says to consult the owner’s manual. That inconsistency makes either code a fitment lead, not a guarantee for every bike.

Before ordering, compare the battery installed in the motorcycle with the owner’s manual and verify dimensions and terminal orientation. Retailer listings can change and may combine exact-fit and universal products; check the specific item rather than treating every product on a model page as a direct fit.
