The 2016 Ford Focus RS RX was a purpose-built rallycross race car—not a road-going Focus RS with race graphics. Developed by Ford Performance, Ken Block’s Hoonigan Racing Division and M-Sport, it was announced for the 2016 FIA World Rallycross Championship with Block and Andreas Bakkerud as its drivers.
What was the Focus RS RX?
The RS RX took its name and broad connection to Ford’s global 2016 Focus RS project, but it was engineered and prepared for rallycross competition. Its all-wheel-drive layout and competition-specific engine, transmission, suspension and brakes set it apart from the production Focus RS. Ford Performance described the program as an effort to push performance and design, in the words of global director Dave Pericak, “to the limit.”
2016 Focus RS RX specifications
Ford Performance and Hoonigan presented these figures and components as specifications for the competition car. The power and acceleration numbers are manufacturer/team claims, not independently documented test results.
| Item | 2016 Focus RS RX |
|---|---|
| Drivetrain | All-wheel drive, according to Ford Performance |
| Engine | Turbocharged 2.0-liter, according to Hoonigan’s rally configuration archive |
| Output | 600 horsepower, claimed by Ford Performance |
| Transmission | Seven-speed sequential gearbox, according to Hoonigan |
| Suspension | Reiger, according to Hoonigan |
| Brakes | AP Racing, according to Hoonigan |
| 0–60 mph | Less than two seconds, claimed by Ford Performance |
Hoonigan’s archive also records a separate Gymkhana/demo configuration with different setup and power information. Those figures should not be combined with the rally specification above: they describe a different configuration, not one consistent set of RS RX race specs.

How it differs from the production Focus RS
The production 2016 Focus RS and the RS RX share a model-family connection, but they are not interchangeable vehicles. The RS RX was built and equipped for rallycross competition; a standard Focus RS road car or miniature of one does not represent the race car. A meaningful comparison should account for each vehicle’s purpose and regulations, competition preparation, drivetrain and engine setup, transmission, suspension and brakes—not just the shared Focus RS name.
Are there models of Ken Block’s Focus RS RX?
An exact RS RX scale model could not be verified from the available product listings. A listed 1:18 resin miniature represents the standard road-going 2016 Ford Focus RS; it should not be presented as a replica of Block’s rallycross car. Exact-model availability may differ across regions and resale marketplaces, and the listings reviewed do not establish what is currently in stock everywhere.

What happened to the program?
