The power and chassis figures are manufacturer specifications. A secondary specification listing also identifies rear-wheel drive and gives output speed points of 6,000 rpm for peak horsepower and 4,000 rpm for peak torque (Car and Driver specifications).
Hellcat trim and transmission choices
For this model year, “SRT Hellcat” identifies the high-performance Challenger model. Dodge’s brochure lists two transmissions for it, rather than treating the manual and automatic as separate named Hellcat trims (2016 Dodge Challenger brochure).

The choice changes the transmission configuration, not the Hellcat’s model name. The available sources do not establish a complete order-code or options inventory, so this is not a full factory build sheet.

2016 model-year standard equipment
Dodge announced that the 2016 SRT Hellcat gained standard ultra-premium Laguna leather appointments and Uconnect 8.4AN with navigation. The announcement also specifies HD radio and five years of SiriusXM Travel Link and SiriusXM Traffic as standard equipment (Dodge’s 2016 model-year announcement).
Brakes and adaptive suspension
The Hellcat’s standard SRT/Brembo brakes were substantial hardware, not just a styling distinction. The factory specification sheet lists two-piece 15.4-inch front rotors and six-piston fixed monoblock aluminum calipers, with 13.8-inch vented and slotted rear rotors and four-piston calipers. It also lists the Hellcat’s 64.0-inch front and 63.7-inch rear track widths, and a 197.5-inch overall length (FCA technical specifications).

Dodge specified SRT-tuned three-mode adaptive damping. The modes alter the suspension’s character:
- Street: sporty but compliant.
- Sport: firmer, for improved handling.
- Track: firmest, for maximum handling.
Factory performance claims—and their tire conditions
Dodge’s 2016 brochure lists NHRA-certified quarter-mile claims of 11.2 seconds at 125 mph on production tires, or 10.8 seconds at 126 mph with street-legal drag tires. The tire setup is essential context: the quicker figure is not the production-tire result (Dodge brochure). These are manufacturer-published claims, not independent test results.

Dodge’s July 2015 announcement separately reported an 11.2-second quarter-mile on stock Pirelli P Zero tires (FCA announcement). Do not substitute the Charger Hellcat’s figures for the Challenger’s; they are different vehicles and the manufacturer gave the Charger separate performance claims.
Original 2016 U.S. MSRP
Dodge stated a U.S. MSRP of $64,195 for the 2016 Challenger SRT Hellcat, including the $1,700 gas-guzzler tax but excluding $995 destination, in its January 2016 announcement (Dodge announcement). This is the original announced price basis, not a current used-car valuation. Present-day asking prices vary by vehicle condition, mileage, location, and specification.

Owner’s manual and useful displays
Mopar hosts the official 2016 Challenger SRT owner’s manual, which includes Hellcat-specific performance information. It describes displays for vehicle speed, instantaneous horsepower and torque, and—on automatic-transmission cars—gear information. It is an operating reference; it is not established here as a repair manual.
