The 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition is a limited-production C7 Z06 special edition styled to connect the road car with Corvette Racing’s C7.R. Chevrolet originally announced a 500-car production limit, but the National Corvette Museum’s year-end report recorded 650 built: 570 coupes and 80 convertibles.
What is the 2016 Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition?
The C7.R Edition is a factory Z06 special edition for the 2016 model year, identified by RPO ZCR in Chevrolet’s order guide. Its livery and details draw on the Corvette Racing C7.R, while its core performance equipment comes from the Z06 and the included Z07 Performance Package.
Chevrolet described the edition as honoring the relationship between race car and production model. Harlan Charles, Corvette product and marketing manager, said, “Corvette Racing’s legacy and technology were significant influences on the development of the Corvette Z06 and the new C7.R Edition honors the direct link between the racecar and the production model.” The statement appears in GM Media’s announcement reproduced by Corvette Action Center.
How many 2016 C7.R Editions were made?
Chevrolet’s April 24, 2015 announcement said production would be limited to 500 examples. The National Corvette Museum’s 2016 year-end production report later recorded 650 ZCR editions: 570 coupes and 80 convertibles. The announcement and the report are distinct figures—the first was the planned limit, while the second is the recorded production total.

Engine, performance equipment and specifications
Chevrolet rated the LT4 supercharged 6.2-liter V8 at 650 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 650 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 rpm. These are manufacturer-stated ratings in the edition announcement, not independent test results.

Chevrolet said every C7.R Edition included the Z07 Performance Package. Its stated equipment included carbon-ceramic-matrix brake rotors, adjustable front and rear aerodynamic components, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Chevrolet attributed braking capability and reduced unsprung weight to the carbon-ceramic rotors.
How to identify factory C7.R Edition equipment
The 2016 Chevrolet order guide identifies the edition as RPO ZCR and lists its content. Chevrolet’s announcement and guide describe the following distinguishing features:

The announced exterior choices were Corvette Racing Yellow Tintcoat or black, in coupe or convertible form with 3LZ trim. Because advertised replicas and modified Z06s can imitate some visual details, confirm a particular car’s RPO/build documentation and inspect its condition rather than relying on graphics alone. The 2016 Chevrolet Corvette order guide lists ZCR content and notes the C7.R design cover as a Genuine Corvette Accessory included with ZCR in the applicable 3LZ configuration.

For a specific example, compare its body style, exterior color, transmission, documented factory content, and service and condition history. The recorded production split makes convertibles substantially less common than coupes, but rarity alone does not establish a car’s condition or value. A current market price is not established by the historical production and equipment sources; it depends on the individual car and current listings.
