What is the BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo?
It is a BRABUS engine conversion based on the W/S212-generation Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG. BRABUS listed the conversion for both the sedan and wagon, so the title does not identify one unique car, body style, or VIN. The conversion debuted at the 2013 Essen Motor Show, according to a reproduced BRABUS press release dated December 7, 2013: BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo announcement.
The “6.0” refers to the enlarged engine’s approximate displacement. BRABUS’s technical release describes increasing the standard 5,461 cc V8 to 5,912 cc, including a bore increase to 99 mm and custom forged pistons. These figures come from BRABUS’s own technical material. The available sources do not establish a named third-party study or independent instrumented test, so the acceleration and speed claims should be read as manufacturer figures rather than verified test results. In particular, do not apply the wagon’s performance numbers automatically to a sedan or a car with a different drivetrain or configuration.

Why are two torque figures quoted?
The 1,450 Nm figure is the engine’s stated peak torque. BRABUS separately says the torque delivered at vehicle level is electronically limited to 1,150 Nm. They describe different things, so quoting 1,450 Nm without the vehicle limit can give an incomplete picture of the conversion’s stated output.
What does the 2014 wagon listing establish?
A BOB|FORSTNER listing documents a black 2014 Mercedes E 63 AMG S 4MATIC Estate fitted with the 5,912 cc BRABUS engine. It lists 625 kW/850 hp, 1,450 Nm, the 1,150 Nm electronic limit, and factory equipment including AMG ceramic brakes. Those are details of that listed car, not proof that every BRABUS 850 had the same equipment. The listing describes the car as “reportedly the only one in existence,” but this reseller assertion does not establish the conversion’s global production count or identify a unique car meant by the title: BOB|FORSTNER 2014 E 63 listing.

What to verify when assessing an example

- Identity and provenance: Match the VIN and vehicle documents to conversion records; the available listing does not establish VIN provenance for other cars.
- Configuration: Confirm whether the car is a sedan or wagon and whether it is rear-wheel drive or 4MATIC. Do not assume the wagon’s published performance figures apply to a different setup.
- Conversion details: Verify the engine displacement and supporting conversion documentation, rather than treating an advertised output figure as proof of the installed specification.
- Equipment: Check the actual wheels, tires, exhaust, suspension, and interior. BRABUS materials describe configuration options; the listed wagon’s AMG ceramic brakes are a detail of that example, not a universal conversion feature.
The sources establish neither a current market value or vehicle condition nor present-day parts availability. Those need to be assessed for the specific car and its location.
