How to identify the 2014 CVO Road King
Harley-Davidson’s 2014 parts catalog labels its coverage “FLHRSE MODELS” and identifies FLHRSE as the CVO Road King. The model-year code E in the catalog’s VIN breakdown denotes 2014. Use FLHRSE—not simply “Road King”—when looking up factory information or discussing fitment.
Harley-Davidson’s model reference search result lists the CVO Road King / FLHRSE for model years 2013–2014. That supports the model-year identification, but the 2014 catalog is the more specific reference for the details below.
Which engine is in the 2014 FLHRSE?
The FLHRSE engine is an air-cooled, fuel-injected 1802 cm³ High Output Twin Cam 110, according to the 2014 factory parts catalog. The catalog separately lists the standard FLHR Road King’s engine as a 1690 cm³ High Output Twin Cam 103. Those are separate model specifications, not interchangeable descriptions of one motorcycle.

How the CVO differs from the standard Road King

The established comparison here is model identity, engine designation and displacement, and parts fitment. The factory material cited does not establish a price, performance comparison, riding impressions, or full dimensions.
Where to find the correct manual and parts information
Harley-Davidson lists a 2014 international owner’s manual for FLHRSE models and provides the model-specific parts catalog. Use the owner’s manual for owner guidance and the catalog’s illustrations and parts lists to identify components. The catalog expressly warns: “THIS IS NOT AN ASSEMBLY MANUAL AND SHOULD NOT BE USED AS SUCH.”

The catalog says part numbers appear in its parts lists and recommends consulting the illustrations to ensure all required parts are ordered. It also notes that CVO models have their own catalogs for painted replacement parts. A retailer’s FLHRSE6-filtered parts and accessories page offers another model-filtered lookup, but the retailer also advises checking the owner’s manual for fitment; a listing alone is not confirmation for a particular motorcycle.
How to check fitment before ordering
- Identify the bike as FLHRSE. Use the model code rather than relying on “Road King” alone.
- Check the FLHRSE factory catalog. Compare the relevant illustration and part number; do not assume a part listed for the FLHR 103 also fits the FLHRSE Twin Cam 110.
- Confirm with the full 17-digit VIN. Harley-Davidson asks owners to provide the full VIN for parts orders or inquiries. Have a dealer or parts department verify the exact application before purchasing.
- For painted parts, use CVO-specific references. The catalog notes that CVO models have their own catalogs for painted replacement parts.
Service alerts and recall status
The owner-manual listing contains a service instruction urging owners of an affected motorcycle to have appropriate service performed at an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer as soon as possible. The listing does not identify the condition or establish that every 2014 FLHRSE is affected, so it should not be treated as a general or current recall notice. Check campaign status for the individual motorcycle by VIN with Harley-Davidson or an authorized dealer.
