The 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 is listed in Kawasaki’s U.S. parts and manual resources in ABS and non-ABS model-code groupings. Before ordering parts or choosing a manual, check your motorcycle’s model code and whether it has ABS. For a 2013 Ninja 1000 ABS, Kawasaki lists a YTX9-BS, 12V, 8Ah battery; confirm the battery already installed and its physical fit before buying a replacement.

Identify your 2013 Ninja 1000 variant

Kawasaki’s Owner Center provides parts diagrams for the 2013 Ninja 1000 ABS, whose parts fiche identifies the model as ZX1000HDF. Kawasaki’s manual listing groups the 2013 owner’s manual under ZX1000GDF/HDF, item 99987-1756. The GDF/HDF grouping covers the manual listing; it is not a substitute for confirming the code on your motorcycle.

Check the bike’s identification information and ABS equipment before selecting a diagram, manual, or component. Start with the Kawasaki Owner Center parts diagrams or the RevZilla OEM fiche for the 2013 Ninja 1000 ABS, then match the exact model code and part number. Availability and seller terms can change, so confirm them with the seller before ordering.

What Kawasaki says about the Ninja 1000

Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ Nov. 13, 2013 announcement, “Kawasaki Exhibits Z1000 and 15 Other Models at 2013 Tokyo Motor Show,” discusses the Ninja 1000 in a section about features of new models for 2014. Kawasaki describes it as having “all the appeal of a supersport bike as well as practical functionality.” That is the manufacturer’s product description, not an independent road-test finding, and the 2014 context means it should not be treated as a verified specification for every regional 2013 motorcycle.

In that same model presentation, Kawasaki lists a 1,043 cm³ liquid-cooled, four-stroke inline-four, three-mode KTRC traction control, selectable power modes, and an adjustable windscreen. It also refers to fully integrated accessory panniers as part of the bike’s practical options; the wording identifies them as accessories, not standard equipment. Check the owner’s manual or regional literature for specifications and equipment applicable to a particular 2013 bike.

Replacement battery: YTX9-BS, 12V, 8Ah

Kawasaki’s chassis electrical equipment list for the Ninja 1000 ABS specifies a YTX9-BS battery rated at 12V and 8Ah. RevZilla lists a Yuasa YTX9-BS AGM battery as fitting the 2013 Ninja 1000 ABS. These references support the search query YTX9-BS motorcycle battery, but a listing does not prove that every bike still has its original configuration.

Use the right manual and parts reference

Kawasaki’s manual listing identifies the 2013 Ninja 1000 owner’s manual as covering ZX1000GDF/HDF and assigns it item number 99987-1756. The listing is on Kawasaki’s French regional site, so its displayed euro pricing is region-specific and does not establish a price or availability for other markets. Use the Kawasaki owner’s manual listing to locate the document, and verify that the model-code coverage matches your motorcycle.

For replacement parts, the Kawasaki diagram and retailer fiche are useful lookup tools, but neither removes the need to verify the exact variant and part number. The evidence cited here does not establish current stock, pricing, recall status, fuel economy, horsepower, reliability, or used-market value for the 2013 model.
