What was the Saab 9-3 TTA?
It was a purpose-built race car with an exterior shaped to represent the Saab 9-3. The shape did not make it a production 9-3: TTA cars shared a common racing basis beneath their different marque shells. The same report identified a Nissan V6 engine in the series cars. That is a series-level description, not a complete technical specification for the Saab entry. In March 2012, Flash Engineering and Team Tidö presented a four-car Saab effort and tested at the French circuit Alès. TTA technical chief Greger Landén described the car as the first complete TTA car with its final technical specification and carbon-fibre body. Motorsporten.dk

What was the TTA series?
TTA began its 2012 season as a breakaway Swedish touring-car series following a split from STCC. At the time, it did not have Swedish championship status. In a report from the opening day, Sveriges Radio quoted Mats Fagerström: “Till skillnad från STCC har de ingen SM-status” (“Unlike STCC, they do not have Swedish championship status”). Sveriges Radio
The split was short-lived. In October 2012, STCC and TTA announced a shared future: STCC would use TTA regulations from the 2013 season. WestCoast Racing

Was it related to the road-going 2012 Saab 9-3?
Only in its visual identity. The TTA car wore a Saab 9-3-shaped shell, but it was a silhouette racer on the series’ common racing basis. The reports do not establish that ordinary Saab 9-3 components, service parts or accessories fit the TTA car; its body resemblance is not evidence of mechanical compatibility.
