What is the 2012 Challenger Rallye Redline?
Chrysler Group positioned the Rallye Redline as a special-edition version of the 2012 Challenger SXT Plus. It combined the SXT Plus’s V6 foundation with the Super Sport Group as standard, adding chassis, brake, wheel-and-tire, and appearance changes. These are original factory specifications; equipment on a used car may differ.
The Rallye Redline is a two-door, five-seat, rear-wheel-drive Challenger. The factory package was intended to distinguish it visually and mechanically from a standard SXT Plus, without changing it into a V8 trim.

Chrysler described cold-air induction and dual exhaust as part of the powertrain specification. The company also claimed up to 27 mpg highway at launch; that is a manufacturer figure from 2012, not an independent test result or a current fuel-economy estimate.

How the Rallye Redline differs from the SXT Plus
The key distinction is the Redline’s combination of mechanical tuning and trim-specific styling. Chrysler said the Super Sport Group was standard on the Rallye Redline.
Suspension and steering
- Performance-tuned suspension with front shocks described as 42 percent firmer and rear shocks 22 percent firmer.
- Larger front and rear sway bars.
- Steering calibration described as 25 percent quicker, with 20 percent heavier on-center feel.
Brakes
- Larger performance disc brakes, with dual-piston front calipers.
- Front vented rotors: 13.6 x 1.26 inches.
- Rear vented rotors: 12.6 x 0.87 inches.
Wheels, tires and appearance
The package used 20 x 8-inch Pitch Black wheels with Redline Red accents and P245/45R20 all-season performance tires. Redline Red stripes ran over the hood, roof and deck lid, with thinner side stripes and a body-color deck-lid spoiler.

Listed exterior colors were Bright Silver Metallic, Tungsten Metallic, Bright White and Pitch Black. Dark Slate Gray was the standard seat trim; Radar Red leather performance seats were an available option.
Is the Rallye Redline a V6 or a V8?
It is a V6. The Rallye Redline’s engine is the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 rated by Chrysler at 305 hp and 268 lb-ft. The name and muscle-car styling do not indicate a V8 powertrain. This distinction is useful when comparing listings: confirm the specific vehicle’s trim and equipment rather than assuming a Redline is a V8.

What size tires does a 2012 Challenger Rallye Redline use?
Chrysler specified P245/45R20 all-season performance tires on 20 x 8-inch wheels. For a replacement, check the size and ratings on the car’s tire placard and inspect its actual wheels before ordering; a used example may no longer have its original wheel-and-tire setup. The factory specification alone does not establish fitment for every replacement tire or modified vehicle.
Original price and launch timing
Chrysler announced a launch MSRP of $28,745, excluding a $925 destination charge, and expected dealership arrival in April 2012. Those are historical launch figures, not current used-car prices or market values.
