What the U.S.-market 2012 Golf R offers
Edmunds lists the 2012 Golf R with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing 256 hp and 243 lb-ft, standard AWD and a six-speed manual as its only transmission. Do not treat $20,000 as a typical market price based on the available valuation evidence. Kelley Blue Book’s good-condition fair-purchase estimates for the 2012 U.S. model were $11,650 for the two-door and $12,000 for the four-door, valid through September 17, 2026.
