What was the 2011 Black Ops Edition?
Chrysler described the edition as a Wrangler Rubicon, not simply a graphics package on an unspecified Wrangler trim. The company said it would arrive in Jeep showrooms in November 2010 and offered it in two body styles: the two-door Wrangler and the four-door Wrangler Unlimited. The launch announcement is the primary source for the advertised configuration and price: Chrysler Group LLC’s October 19, 2010 announcement.
What made its styling and equipment distinctive?

- Black exterior paint.
- Call of Duty: Black Ops graphics on the roof and front-quarter panels.

Rubicon-based capability
Chrysler’s announcement listed 32-inch off-road tires, live axles, locking differentials at both ends, and a two-speed transfer case. These are the edition’s advertised launch specifications; they do not establish that a particular used vehicle retains its original parts or condition.
A separate Chrysler/Mopar release itemized accessories shown on a 2011 North American International Auto Show vehicle. The list included a Warn 9.5ti XP winch, front off-road bumper, two-inch lift kit, tube doors, rock rails, front-axle skid plate, grab handles, black door-sill guards, slush mats, taillamp guards, black fuel-filler door, and a Jeep emblem. The release gives period part numbers and MSRPs, but those details are historical reference points—not proof that a part remains available, has not been superseded, or fits every Wrangler configuration. How did the Call of Duty tie-in work?
Jeep was named Activision Publishing’s exclusive automotive partner for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Chrysler said the Wrangler appeared in both the game’s single-player storyline and multiplayer experience. Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia described the collaboration this way: “Our work with the Jeep team focused around using the Jeep Wrangler in our levels, and gameplay experiences, and translating the style and look of the vehicle in Black Ops to the Jeep on the showroom floor that our fans can own.” The quote and partnership description appear in Chrysler’s launch announcement.

How can you assess a claimed Black Ops example?
The launch material documents what Jeep marketed, but it does not describe a serial-number system or an authentication procedure. Treat an advertised example as a vehicle to verify, not as proven by its name or graphics alone.
- Compare its body style and claimed equipment with Chrysler’s documented two-door or Unlimited configuration.
- Look for the documented Black Ops graphics and distinguishing Mopar pieces, while allowing that parts may have been removed, replaced, or added later.
- Check the Rubicon-based hardware and inspect for modifications and condition; an ordinary Rubicon or a modified Wrangler is not automatically this edition.
- Ask for available records and have the specific vehicle inspected. The sources establish the advertised specification, not a definitive authentication test.
The reviewed official material does not establish how many were produced, so a production total should not be inferred from the edition’s rarity or a seller’s claim.

What should owners know about accessories and 2011 model context?
Researching period Mopar accessories
A useful search phrase is “2011 Jeep Wrangler slush floor mats.” The 2011 Wrangler User’s Guide lists slush mats among Mopar accessory categories, and the Mopar show-vehicle list identifies period part number 82210164AB. That is a research lead, not confirmation of current stock or fitment. Before buying, confirm the body style, model year, floor layout, and any part-number supersession with a Jeep parts source or seller. Apply the same checks to period references for bumpers, winches, rock rails, skid plates, lift kits, and other accessories.
Interior and service references
The broader 2011 Wrangler model material describes an all-new interior, including a redesigned instrument panel and storage areas, improved ergonomics and materials, a lockable console, steering-wheel controls, USB, Bluetooth audio streaming, additional 12-volt outlets, and an available 110-volt outlet. The 2011 Wrangler Owner’s Manual specifies API-certified SAE 5W-20 engine oil meeting Chrysler Material Standard MS-6395 and a Mopar oil filter or equivalent. For a particular vehicle, confirm the engine configuration and service guidance in its manual, and account for its maintenance history.
