What made the 2009 G V12 S Biturbo different?
Presented at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, the G V12 S Biturbo was a five-door G-Class conversion described by BRABUS as exclusive and hand-built. Its defining change was not simply a tuned G55 engine: BRABUS replaced the G55 AMG’s V8 with its SV12 S, a V12 derived from the Mercedes-Benz S 600 V12 Biturbo.
BRABUS billed the launch car as “The world’s most powerful off-roader.” That was the company’s promotional claim in 2009, not an independently verified or current ranking. Autoblog reproduced the launch-era BRABUS release.

BRABUS increased the S 600-derived engine’s displacement from 5.5 to 6.3 liters. Its release described a special crankshaft, larger cylinders and bore, and modified cylinder heads with special camshafts. The company reported 700 hp / 515 kW and 1,320 Nm (973 lb-ft) in 2009; these are launch specifications, not independently measured results established here. Reported exterior and cabin features included 20- or 22-inch wheel options, side-exit exhaust outlets ahead of the rear wheels, LED lighting and a customized leather interior. How it fits BRABUS G-Class V12 history
BRABUS’s first V12 conversion based on the G-Class appeared in 2004, according to the company’s retrospective. That earlier G V12 was reported at 610 hp and 4.7 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. Those figures belong to the 2004 model, not the 2009 G V12 S Biturbo, whose launch figures were 700 hp and 4.3 seconds. BRABUS history.

The launch material identifies the conversion’s engine lineage and reported specifications, but it does not establish an independently tested performance result, production total, current market value or verified current sale listing. “Exclusive” does not by itself establish how many were built.
