The manual says to clean and lubricate the drive chain every 1,000 km (600 miles). Treat this as a manufacturer maintenance instruction for the DL650A manual, not as a substitute for checking chain condition or following other applicable instructions in the manual.
Who should do the work?
Suzuki directs owners to a dealer or qualified mechanic for maintenance items marked with an asterisk. Other listed work may be done by owners who have the relevant mechanical experience. Suzuki’s manual says to use “only genuine Suzuki replacement parts or their equivalent.” Check the exact part number and specification for your model and market; a general catalog match is not proof of fitment. Consult the manual’s maintenance and replacement-parts guidance.
