What changed for the 2008 RM-Z250?
Suzuki’s July 16, 2008 announcement described a graphics change for the RM-Z250 and said Japanese sales would begin July 22. The announcement gave a Japan-market suggested retail price of ¥661,500, including consumption tax. That is a historical new-bike price, not a current used-bike valuation. Suzuki characterized the RM-Z series as motocross competition motorcycles, not as road-going models.
The model-specific brochure highlights a carburetor change: the 2008 RM-Z250 used a Keihin FCR37MX with bat-wing-type air-guide plates. Suzuki said the changes were intended to improve mid-to-high acceleration feel and response at low throttle. This describes the manufacturer’s stated aim, not an independent performance test.
2008 Suzuki RM-Z250 specs: what is established?
The available official material confirms the carburetor and broad model-year context, but does not provide a complete authoritative 2008 specification table. Avoid treating figures for a neighboring model year as confirmed 2008 specifications.

For context only, Suzuki’s model-history entry for the 2007 RM-Z250 lists a 249 cc liquid-cooled four-stroke DOHC engine with four valves, a five-speed transmission, 92 kg weight, 32.1 kW (43.7 PS) at 11,000 rpm, and 30.1 Nm at 8,500 rpm. Those are 2007 figures; they are not verified specifications for the 2008 bike.
Suzuki’s history archive next lists a 2010 model, for which it says fuel injection was adopted. That later change should not be projected backward onto the 2008 model.

Is a 2008 RM-Z250 fuel injected?
No. Suzuki’s 2008 brochure identifies a Keihin FCR37MX carburetor. Fuel injection is associated with the 2010 model in Suzuki’s model-history archive, not the 2008 specification described in the brochure.
What parts fit a 2008 RM-Z250?
The 2008 parts catalog includes categories such as air cleaner, carburetor, engine, suspension, brakes, and wheels. It also identifies K8 regional model variants and separates some assemblies by model-year group, including K7 versus K8/K9. A part advertised simply as fitting an “RM-Z250” may therefore not be the right match.

Before ordering a replacement air filter or another component:
- Identify the motorcycle’s exact model code and market or regional variant.
- Find the relevant 2008 fiche and confirm the part number for the exact assembly and position.
- Compare the listing’s stated compatibility and part number with the fiche; ask the seller if the listing does not identify the regional code.
The catalog establishes that an air-cleaner category exists, but does not establish current stock, prices, or fitment for any particular marketplace listing.

Which owner’s manual should you get?
Parts listings show multiple owner’s-manual part numbers, including language-coded entries and some marked unavailable. Match the manual to the motorcycle’s market and language, and confirm the exact edition and availability rather than choosing by model year alone.

Suzuki described the RM-Z series as motocross competition vehicles. Its Japan-market announcement does not establish whether a particular bike can be registered for road use in another jurisdiction; that depends on local rules and the motorcycle’s documentation and configuration.
