The 2008 Peugeot 308 SW is the estate version of the first-generation 308, designed around a longer body and flexible, luggage-focused cabin. Peugeot’s September 2008 UK brochure lists a 4,500 mm overall length and up to 674 litres of load volume under the cover in five-seat form. Those are period UK brochure figures—not a guarantee of the specification of every car carrying the 308 SW badge.
What is the 2008 Peugeot 308 SW?
The 308 SW is the estate, or wagon, body style in the first-generation Peugeot 308 range. Compared with the hatchback, it has a longer body and a cabin arranged to carry more luggage, with flexible second-row seating. The broader model line included five- and seven-seat versions, but the exact configuration of a UK-market car should be checked against its paperwork and equipment.
Peugeot’s September 2008 UK brochure describes the vehicle as specified at the time of printing. It cautions that some feature combinations may not be available in the UK and advises confirming full specification with a Peugeot dealer. Trim, engine, equipment and market therefore matter when identifying an individual car.

Peugeot states a maximum of 674 litres under the load cover in five-seat form. Treat it as a manufacturer-published figure: usable volume varies with seating arrangement and the measurement convention, so it is not directly comparable with figures quoted using a different load boundary or seat position. If you need to know whether a particular item will fit, measure the car itself with the seats in the intended position.
2008 308 SW service intervals
The 2008 brochure describes service intervals of up to 20,000 miles or two years generally, and up to 12,500 miles or two years for the 1.6 HDi diesel. These are historical period statements, not a service schedule to apply automatically to every 308 SW today. Peugeot directs owners to the maintenance book for the interval applying to their specific model and for adjustments in arduous-use conditions.

For a used car, check the maintenance book and invoices against its engine and use history rather than relying on the brochure maximum. The title alone does not identify the engine or establish what maintenance a particular vehicle needs now.
Choosing parts and accessories
Peugeot’s period brochure says its dealer network offered original equipment parts and accessories designed for specific models, supported by trained technicians and Peugeot diagnostic equipment. That is the manufacturer’s description of its support at the time; it does not confirm present-day stock or compatibility for a specific car.
