The list spans SUVs, trucks, hybrids, a minivan and sedans—but these figures are observed odometer readings, not promises that a typical vehicle will reach 200,000 miles.
15 cars with very high observed mileage
The table reproduces iSeeCars’ historical model ranking and its reported “potential lifespan” figures. The source describes an analysis of more than two million vehicles produced and sold for at least 10 of the past 20 model years. It ranks models by the highest-mileage-achieving vehicles in the dataset.
| Rank | Model | Reported mileage |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Toyota Sequoia | 296,509 miles |
| 2 | Toyota Land Cruiser | 280,236 miles |
| 3 | Chevrolet Suburban | 265,732 miles |
| 4 | Toyota Tundra | 256,022 miles |
| 5 | GMC Yukon XL | 252,360 miles |
| 6 | Toyota Prius | 250,601 miles |
| 7 | Chevrolet Tahoe | 250,338 miles |
| 8 | Honda Ridgeline | 248,669 miles |
| 9 | Toyota Avalon | 245,710 miles |
| 10 | Toyota Highlander Hybrid | 244,994 miles |
| 11 | Ford Expedition | 244,682 miles |
| 12 | Toyota 4Runner | 244,665 miles |
| 13 | Toyota Sienna | 239,607 miles |

What these mileage figures mean—and what they do not
These numbers are not a model’s maximum possible lifespan or a prediction for every car. iSeeCars’ Executive Analyst Karl Brauer cautions: “And to be clear, this study isn’t reporting the maximum lifespan of these vehicles. This is simply a measure of current odometer readings.” The figures describe the highest-mileage-achieving vehicles in the dataset; they do not account for a particular model year, trim, engine, service record, climate, ownership pattern or repair bill.

- Efficient, Energy-Saving, and Fast Charging: The TowerTop 12v battery charger offers 4 adjustable current settings (2A/10A/25A/AUTO) to meet your diverse needs. With a max charging current of 25A, you can fully charge a 100Ah battery in under 3.5 hours. Achieving an 85% charging efficiency (industry average 75%), this battery chargers is more efficient, increasing charging speed by 1640% compared to 2A car battery charger. Not only is it energy-efficient, but it also saves you a lot of wait time
- Fully Automatic Charging for Convenience and Safety: This 12 volt battery charger automatically detects battery status and starts charging automatically within 30 seconds if you forget to press Start. After a full charge, it enters pulse repair mode, turns off the screen to save energy, and maintains a safe voltage for long-term storage. If voltage drops, it restores full power. The smart battery charger also remembers your last settings, ensuring seamless operation even after a power outage
- All-in-One Compatible Design: Designed for 12V sealed lead-acid batteries in cars, boats, RVs, power sports, and deep-cycle batteries, including 12V STD, AGM, GEL, Wet, MF, EFB, calcium and deep-cycle batteries
- HD LCD Screen and 8-Stage Intelligent Charging: With true 8-stage smart charging (desulfurization, soft start, bulk charge, absorption, analysis, repair, float, and pulse maintenance), it optimizes battery life and repairs batteries without overcharging or damaging them. The HD LCD screen allows you to view the charging stage and parameters at any time rather than leaving you guessing, keeping you informed of the charging status
- Battery Repair: Independent desulfurization and repair buttons allow you to manually desulfurize and repair your battery to restore lost battery performance, helping to revive old/idle batteries and extend battery life. If your battery cannot be charged, you can try the "repair" mode to fix it. Note: It cannot repair completely drained batteries
That distinction matters when shopping: a ranking can help identify models with examples that accumulated exceptional mileage, but it cannot tell you whether a specific used vehicle is sound. The list includes several full-size SUVs and a pickup, alongside a hybrid hatchback, a hybrid SUV, a minivan and sedans. Choose by the space and vehicle type you need, then assess the individual car rather than treating its model’s rank as a guarantee.
How the newer 250,000-mile study differs
In a study published September 15, 2026, iSeeCars analyzed data for more than 395 million cars and estimated the probability of reaching 250,000 miles. It put the average estimated chance across vehicles at 5.4%. Among passenger cars, the reported leaders were the Lexus LS at 38.8%, Toyota Avalon at 23.2% and Honda Accord Hybrid at 18.5%.
Rank #2
- PREVENT BATTERY FAILURE: Ensure reliable starts after storage with this 4-in-1 device that charges, maintains, tests, and restores batteries for cars, motorcycles, ATVs, trucks, SUVs, and boats.
- REVIVE DEAD BATTERIES: Delivers 15A rapid charging power to keep standard, AGM, gel, and deep-cycle batteries healthy, making it the perfect garage upgrade for seasonal or infrequently used vehicles.
- EASY OPERATION: Microprocessor controlled with auto voltage detection and smart trickle charging technology for a seamless charging experience.
- MULTI-FUNCTION VALUE: Maximize battery life and performance with advanced desulfation mode, automatic voltage detection for 6V and 12V batteries, and multi-stage charging algorithms.
- COMPLETE PACKAGE: Includes (1) SC1280 Battery Charger and Maintainer, (1) user manual
Those percentages use a different method and threshold from the historical table: they estimate the chance of reaching 250,000 miles, not 200,000 miles, and should not be combined with the historical odometer figures. See iSeeCars’ 2026 longest-lasting cars study for that analysis.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to judge a used car that already has high mileage
A high odometer reading is one part of a used car’s history, not a complete verdict. Before buying, look for evidence that the specific vehicle was maintained and inspect its condition. iSeeCars links high-mileage use to following the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule, but its ranking does not establish that maintenance alone explains why these models appear near the top.

- Review service records. Compare documented maintenance with the schedule for that vehicle’s year and configuration; ask about gaps rather than assuming they were handled.
- Get an independent inspection. Have a qualified mechanic assess the vehicle and identify needed repairs before you commit.
- Consider use and condition. Mileage alone does not show how the car was driven, stored or cared for. Look at the overall condition and how well it fits your needs.
- Budget for ownership, not just the purchase. Weigh the asking price against the inspection findings and expected maintenance. The studies above do not compare current prices or repair costs.
- Keep your own records. Follow the manufacturer’s schedule and record completed service so future maintenance is easier to track; a logbook can help with recordkeeping, but it does not improve reliability by itself.
