These are 12 motorcycles that stood out in a July 2025 SlashGear selection for their design, character, performance, technology, or category appeal. The list spans sportbikes, adventure tourers, cruisers, and an electric motorcycle—but it is an editorial snapshot, not a ranked verdict or a guide to what is available to buy in 2026. Some entries are new launches; others are updates or model-year versions.
How to read this 2025 motorcycle list
Andrew Ekuwem’s SlashGear roundup, published July 5, 2025, selected 12 motorcycles that caught the author’s interest. It did not establish a standardized scoring system or an objective best-to-worst ranking. The useful way to compare the bikes is by the kind of riding they are designed to suit, while keeping their market and release status in view.
A 2025 model-year label does not necessarily mean a motorcycle was an entirely new design. Likewise, an announcement or price in one country does not establish availability or price elsewhere. The official updates discussed below are dated and regional; they do not confirm October 2026 stock or current dealer pricing.
Sportbikes and road-focused performance
Yamaha YZF-R9
The YZF-R9 represents the middleweight supersport side of the selection: a road-going sportbike whose appeal is its focused, high-performance character. Its inclusion gives the list a dedicated supersport option alongside more road-oriented naked bikes and adventure machines.

Ducati Panigale V2 (2025 refresh)
The Panigale V2 is a refreshed version of Ducati’s sportbike, rather than simply a new model name to treat as a wholly new motorcycle. It is the list’s sharply sport-focused choice for riders drawn to a committed riding position and the visual language of a full-fairing performance bike.
CFMOTO 675SS
The 675SS adds another full-fairing sportbike to the mix. Its place in the selection reflects interest in the category’s range of manufacturers and approaches; the roundup does not provide an independent comparison establishing how it performs against the other bikes here.
Aprilia RS 660 Factory
The RS 660 Factory is the more track-oriented variation of Aprilia’s middleweight sportbike. It offers a different flavor of sport riding from the R9, Panigale V2, and 675SS, making it a natural pick for readers interested in a performance-focused trim rather than a broad category winner.

Naked bikes and versatile roadsters
Aprilia Tuono V4 (2025)
The Tuono V4 brings a powerful naked-bike character to the list. Its upright, less-faired format distinguishes it from the supersports, while retaining the high-performance emphasis that makes it an enthusiast pick.

Honda’s CB1000 Hornet SP is the list’s large-displacement naked-bike entry. It is aimed at riders who want an assertive roadster format rather than the wind protection and forward-leaning posture of a supersport.
Can-Am Pulse
The Pulse stands apart as an electric motorcycle in a selection otherwise centered on conventional motorcycle powertrains. Honda’s later WN7 announcement is a separate development: on September 16, 2025, Honda described the WN7 as a production model of its EV Fun Concept and its first fixed-battery electric naked motorcycle for the Fun segment in Europe. That later announcement does not make the WN7 part of the July list.

Adventure motorcycles for touring and mixed terrain
KTM 1390 Super Adventure S EVO
KTM’s 1390 Super Adventure S EVO is the list’s high-spec adventure-touring selection. Adventure motorcycles are built around long-distance versatility and the ability to handle varied roads, but the exact equipment, specification, and availability depend on market and model version.
KTM and Bajaj Auto’s February 5, 2025 announcement concerned the 2025 KTM Adventure range in India, including the 390 Adventure, 390 Adventure X, and 250 Adventure. It is not a specification or availability confirmation for the 1390 Super Adventure S EVO in every market. The company’s Probiking president, Manik Nangia, said the range blended “high-performance touring with off-road capability”; that is the manufacturer’s description, not an independent test finding.
BMW R 1300 GS Adventure
The R 1300 GS Adventure is BMW’s large adventure-touring entry. BMW Motorrad USA’s November 13, 2024 model-year update grouped new models separately from equipment or technical changes and color changes, and treated destination separately from US MSRP. That distinction matters: a 2025 model-year update is not, by itself, proof that every motorcycle in the update is an all-new design.

Cruisers and distinctive designs
Buell Super Cruiser
The Super Cruiser contributes a performance-minded cruiser silhouette to the selection. It offers a different riding posture and visual character from the sportbikes and adventure machines, and is included for its distinct identity rather than as a direct substitute for either category.
Honda Rebel 1100 (2025)
The Rebel 1100 is the list’s cruiser with a 2025 model-year designation. It broadens the selection beyond high-performance sport and touring machines, appealing to riders looking for a cruiser format. The roundup’s inclusion does not establish what trims or equipment are currently sold in a particular country.
MV Agusta Superveloce 1000
The Superveloce 1000 is the selection’s visually distinctive, high-performance motorcycle, combining a retro-inspired design direction with an exotic sportbike identity. It stands out for character and design as much as for its place among the list’s performance-oriented machines.

What changed after the July 2025 list?
Several official announcements from 2025 help clarify why a year label should not be mistaken for a global launch calendar. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India announced 2025 CB650R and CBR650R versions with E-Clutch technology on May 10, 2025. The announcement gave ex-showroom Delhi prices of ₹9.60 lakh and ₹10.40 lakh, respectively, and said deliveries were scheduled to begin in the last week of May 2025. These were India-specific, historical details for models that are not among the 12 in this roundup.
TVS’s February 18, 2025 announcement of a 2025 RONIN edition described two additional colors and dual-channel ABS on the mid variant. That was an India-market update and is not an additional motorcycle in the SlashGear selection. These examples illustrate how a model-year edition can bring equipment or appearance changes without being a completely new platform.
