He found it comfortable and confidence-inspiring on ordinary highways and broken roads, but noisy at speed, short on cabin practicality and thirsty enough to require fuel planning. He did not take it off-road, so this is one driver’s road-trip account—not an off-road test or a controlled vehicle evaluation.
How the 1,000-kilometre trip unfolded
Gohil’s one-way Mumbai–Vadodara leg was around 400 kilometres. He left Mumbai early, drove roughly 220 kilometres on the old Mumbai–Gujarat highway, then joined the expressway near Kharel. Before leaving, he paired his phone with Apple CarPlay, adjusted the seat and mirrors, and set up the audio system.
Because the expressway had limited fuel stations, he topped up at Vapi before joining it. He reached Vadodara around lunchtime, used the Wrangler around the city over the following days, and set off for Mumbai at about 8 a.m. on Sunday. He arrived home around 2:30 p.m. The total, including local driving, was a little over 1,000 kilometres.
What the Wrangler was like on the highway
Visibility and driver comfort
The high seating position and road visibility were among the things Gohil liked most. He found the driver’s seat and position comfortable over several hours, although he noticed limited room for his left foot in the footwell. He also felt the engine made it easy to overtake and maintain speed during the journey.

Stability, noise and road surfaces
Gohil described the Wrangler as comfortable and reasonably stable up to around 100–110 km/h. At higher speeds, he became more aware of body movement and the vehicle’s tall, rugged construction. His account does not present it as a high-speed cruiser or a vehicle to attack corners with.
Wind and road noise were noticeable at higher speeds. On potholes and broken surfaces, however, he valued the tyres, braking, ground clearance and rugged construction. These are his impressions from this trip, not instrumented measurements.

City driving and everyday practicality
Despite its size, Gohil found the Wrangler manageable in the city. Tight parking called for care because of its width and protruding bumper and body elements. Inside, he found the door pockets limited in space and the rear-seat experience unimpressive. The left-foot room he noted on the highway was another cabin compromise.
Fuel use and planning
6–7 km/l — Parth Gohil, 2026 (author-reported trip observation; not an organizational statistic). He reported this fuel use even on the highway, said it made the trip expensive, and planned stops accordingly, including the top-up at Vapi before the expressway. It is a figure from his particular journey, not a certified efficiency figure or a representative owner average.

Who might find this kind of trip appealing?
Gohil’s account presents a clear set of trade-offs rather than a head-to-head comparison. The Wrangler suited his trip when he valued its high driving position, highway overtaking ability, driver comfort and reassurance over poor road surfaces. Its fuel use, cabin noise, limited storage and less impressive rear seat were the costs he noticed. He found it most comfortable when driven in keeping with its rugged character, rather than pushed at higher speeds.

This was a road-use journey, not an off-road outing. The impressions and fuel figure belong to Gohil’s Mumbai–Vadodara trip and should not be read as a definitive assessment of every Wrangler Rubicon or every owner’s experience.
