Its 2024 U.S. specifications list a 799 cc parallel twin and equipment such as cruise control, heated grips and seat, and a bidirectional quickshifter. A 2023 road test praised its comfort and pavement manners, while noting a flaw in Sport-mode throttle response. Here are 10 reasons the T stands out, with model years and reviewer impressions kept in view.
1. A 799 cc parallel twin with substantial listed output
For the 2024 U.S. model, CFMOTO’s brochure and a dealer specification listing describe a liquid-cooled 799 cc parallel twin rated at 94 hp at 9,000 rpm and 56.8 lb-ft of torque at 7,500 rpm. Those are listed manufacturer specifications, not independently measured output. Rider Magazine’s 2023 test described the claimed figures as 94 hp and 57 lb-ft, rounding torque differently.
The 2024 listing also gives a five-gallon fuel capacity and 32.5-inch seat height—useful starting points when considering touring range and fit, though neither figure tells the whole story about real-world comfort or reach to the ground.
2. Cruise control for longer pavement stretches
The 2024 T listing includes cruise control, a practical feature for holding speed on open roads and reducing the need to keep a hand on the throttle. It is part of the model’s documented touring-oriented equipment rather than an accessory noted in the sources.

That is one rider’s impression on the tested motorcycle, not a guarantee that the screen will suit every height, helmet, or seating position.

The 2024 listing includes both a center stand and a skid plate. A center stand can simplify parking and some routine tasks, while a skid plate adds protection underneath the motorcycle. The sources do not establish the skid plate’s limits or make the bike suitable for every kind of off-road riding.

In its 2023 road test, Rider Magazine praised the Ibex 800 T’s comfort on longer rides, wind protection, and pavement cornering. The reviewer also found the Sport-mode throttle response snatchy, an important counterpoint for riders who prioritize smooth low-speed control. These are the publication’s impressions of its 2023 test bike, not results from a 2024 test.

What the 800 T adds over the 800 S
The most useful distinction in the available sources is equipment and intended use. Rider’s 2023 review characterized the S as more street-focused with cast wheels, while the T is the adventure/touring-oriented trim with tubeless spoked wheels. The 2024 T listing documents convenience and touring equipment including cruise control, heated grips and rider seat, a quickshifter, adjustable windscreen, center stand, and TFT display.
That does not make the T the better choice for every rider. Compare the exact model years and local specifications, sit on both if possible, check dealer support and the total out-the-door price, and consider whether your tires and routes will be primarily road or include light off-road use.
