The KTM 1390 Super Adventure S EVO’s headline change is its automated manual transmission (AMT), paired with a larger 1,350 cm³ V-twin, standard front radar in KTM’s launch description, and semi-active suspension. KTM introduced it internationally as a 2025 model on October 22, 2024, but said North American availability would be designated model year 2026. Check the model year and equipment listed by your local dealer before treating “2025” as a local-market designation.
1. The engine grows to 1,350 cm³ and adds CAMSHIFT
KTM lists a 1,350 cm³ V-twin producing 173 PS at 9,500 rpm and 145 Nm at 8,000 rpm. The company describes CAMSHIFT as a system that shifts the inlet cams at higher engine speeds to vary inlet-valve timing and lift. Those are KTM’s specifications and explanation, not independently measured performance results.
In its October 22, 2024 launch release, KTM said the engine grew from 1,300 to 1,350 cc. Read KTM’s launch release.
2. AMT is the EVO’s defining drivetrain difference
The automated manual transmission offers two operating modes: A, for automated shifting, and M, for manual shifting. It works without a conventional clutch lever. KTM lists the gear sequence as P-N-1-2-3-4-5-6; P is a park position that uses a locking pawl.

In manual mode, the rider can request shifts with either the foot lever or paddles on the switch cube. This is not the same setup as a conventional manual transmission with a clutch lever.
3. The automated clutch also affects starting and low-speed control
KTM says a centrifugal clutch engages to initiate forward movement and that the system prevents the engine from stalling. These are manufacturer descriptions of AMT operation; they do not establish how the motorcycle feels in particular riding conditions.
4. Front radar and adaptive cruise control are included in KTM’s EVO launch description
KTM identifies a fifth-generation Bosch front radar and describes adaptive cruise control features including group riding and hold. Its launch release also lists collision and distance warnings, braking assistance, and AMT-linked stop-and-go operation.

These are rider-assistance features, not autonomous riding. The rider remains responsible for controlling the motorcycle and responding to traffic. KTM’s EVO launch release describes the system; confirm which functions are supplied and enabled on a locally sold bike.

The EVO uses WP APEX Semi-Active Technology with electronically controlled damping. KTM’s model page lists Sport, Street, Comfort, and Rain damping settings. The available suspension travel is 200 mm at both ends in KTM Norway’s specifications.
KTM also describes Suspension Pro as an optional package, with additional adjustments, anti-dive, and other modes. Do not assume it is fitted as standard: package availability and configuration depend on the market and motorcycle.

6. KTM revised the chassis and footpeg position
KTM says it revised frame stiffness and gives claimed changes of 13% longitudinally, 23% laterally, and 73% torsionally on its model page. Those percentages are manufacturer figures, not independent measurements.
The launch release says the footpegs moved 8 mm lower and 10 mm wider than before. That describes a change from the previous model, rather than a fit assessment for every rider.

7. The cockpit centers on an 8-inch touchscreen
KTM describes an 8-inch touchscreen with inductive touch operation intended to work with thick gloves. The company says coatings are designed to reduce glare, reflections, and fingerprints. The display also provides access to ride modes and connectivity.

8. Touring electronics and equipment need a market check
KTM’s model page lists features including multiple ride modes, cruise control, a keyless system, tire-pressure monitoring, and KTM Connect. Equipment can vary by market and specification, so verify the exact standard and optional items for the bike being offered rather than assuming the international page describes every local version.
9. The listed tires are Dunlop Trailmax Meridian
KTM names Dunlop Trailmax Meridian tires in 120/70 ZR 19 front and 170/60 ZR 17 rear sizes. If you are searching for replacements, those exact terms identify the listed setup: Dunlop Trailmax Meridian 120/70 ZR 19 170/60 ZR 17 motorcycle tires. Confirm approval and fitment against local specifications and the motorcycle’s wheel setup before buying.

KTM Norway’s technical specifications list an 847/867 mm seat height, approximately 23 L fuel capacity, 223 mm ground clearance, 245 kg fully fueled weight, and 200 mm suspension travel at both ends. These are figures on KTM Norway’s page, not necessarily the specification for every market.

KTM’s model material gives conflicting CO₂ figures: 139.5 g/km in its narrative and 155 g/km on the technical specifications page. Its model page also states 6.7 L/100 km. Because the CO₂ values conflict, check the applicable local homologation data rather than treating either number as settled for every version.
How the S EVO differs from the 2025 S
KTM’s descriptions distinguish the S EVO by its AMT and standard front radar; the 2025 S is described with a conventional clutch and manual transmission, and front radar as optional. Both models are described with the 1,350 cm³ engine and semi-active suspension. The available specifications do not establish a like-for-like local price or complete standard-equipment comparison, so check the regional listings before choosing between them.
For the model-year distinction, KTM’s October 22, 2024 EVO announcement says North American availability would be model year 2026. KTM published a separate 2025 1390 Super Adventure S release on October 24, 2024.
