The 2025 Audi A6 e-tron is a battery-electric luxury car offered in the U.S. as a Sportback, with rear-wheel-drive and quattro versions. Its range, body style, equipment and price depend on market and configuration, so compare the exact version rather than treating every A6 e-tron figure as universal.
1. It is an electric A6, but body styles vary by market
The U.S. lineup calls the car the A6 Sportback e-tron. Audi’s New Zealand MY25 specification sheet also covers an A6 Avant e-tron wagon, so buyers may see both body styles in international listings. Do not assume the Avant is part of the U.S. lineup. Audi USA’s A6 Sportback e-tron lineup and the New Zealand MY25 specification sheet describe different market offerings.
2. Is the Audi A6 e-tron rear-wheel drive or quattro?
U.S. buyers can choose rear-wheel drive or quattro all-wheel drive. Audi lists 375 hp for the RWD version and 466 hp for quattro with launch control. The latter is a launch-control figure, not a claim about ordinary continuous output; the two drivetrains should not be treated as equivalent in power or performance. 3. How far can the 2025 Audi A6 e-tron go on a charge?
Range depends on drivetrain and options. Audi USA’s current page lists a 360-mile EPA estimate for the specified quattro configuration. Separately, Electrive’s March 2025 U.S. launch report cited up to 392 miles for the RWD model with the Ultra package and 377 miles for quattro with that package. Those are dated, package-specific launch figures; Audi’s current summary page reviewed here does not repeat them. EPA estimates are not directly comparable with European or New Zealand WLTP figures.

Use the estimate for the exact trim and wheel configuration you are considering, and expect actual range to vary with conditions and driving. The current U.S. figure appears on Audi’s model page; the launch-era package figures were reported by Electrive in March 2025.
4. How long does it take to charge from 10% to 80%?
Audi says the European A6 Sportback e-tron performance can charge from 10% to 80% in about 21 minutes at an HPC (high-power charging) station. Audi’s U.S. page also gives an approximate 21-minute 10–80% time on a public DC fast charger. Audi’s European performance page lists a maximum DC rate of 270 kW for that version. The peak rate is not a promise that every charging stop will reach 270 kW or finish in 21 minutes: charger capability, starting charge, battery temperature and vehicle version all affect the result.

5. The battery and 800-volt system figures are version-specific
Audi’s European A6 Sportback e-tron performance page specifies a 94.9 kWh net battery and an 800-volt high-voltage architecture. These are specifications for the European performance version, not universal figures for every U.S. trim. The higher-voltage architecture is relevant to the car’s charging capability, but it does not remove the practical limits imposed by the charger, battery conditions or vehicle configuration. 6. Cabin technology is a major part of the package
Audi’s European product page names a panoramic display, augmented-reality head-up display, Audi assistant, driver-door operating unit, dynamic interaction light and 3D sound with speakers in the head restraints. Equipment availability depends on market and specification, so confirm the features on the exact U.S. trim or vehicle rather than assuming every item is included. 7. Can I charge it at home?
Yes, home charging is an option, but the right setup depends on your electrical service, installation conditions and the vehicle’s AC charging limit. Audi’s European page names its Wallbox models and e-tron compact charging system. In one Tom’s Guide road test, the tested car gained a reported 2.82 miles of range per hour from a 120-volt outlet in that setup. That single result illustrates why ordinary household charging can be slow; it is not a universal rate for every home or vehicle.

A compatible 240-volt Level 2 EVSE may be more practical for owners who need to replenish more range at home. Before buying or installing equipment, verify connector compatibility, the circuit and installation requirements, local code, and the car’s AC limit with a qualified electrician or Audi. Tom’s Guide reported driving 218.1 miles in a Prestige test car and averaging 3.7 miles per kWh. That is one outlet’s test of one car, not an official rating or an ownership-wide average. Weather, speed, route, tires and climate-control use can all change energy consumption. Read the measurement in the context of the outlet’s road test.

9. U.S. launch prices are historical, not current quotes
Electrive reported these U.S. launch-era MSRPs in March 2025. The AWD versions were reported at $2,000 above the corresponding RWD prices, and each figure below excludes a $1,295 destination and delivery surcharge.

10. Compare the exact version, not just the nameplate
Before choosing an A6 e-tron, line up the details that change the ownership proposition:
