1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFor a touring-and-adventure motorcycle, the key trade-off is how much distance-focused equipment comes with hardware and controls intended for rougher surfaces. Suzuki’s 2026–2027 European V-Strom specifications and Honda’s 2026 U.S. lineup offer ten useful choices, from approachable middleweights to larger touring machines. They include trims and transmission variants—not ten unrelated model families—and the regional specifications and prices are not directly comparable.
How to judge the touring–adventure balance
Start with the surfaces you expect to ride. A 21-inch front wheel appears on several of the more off-road-oriented models here; a 19-inch front wheel signals a more road-focused setup within Honda’s Africa Twin range. Suspension travel, ground clearance, tire type and gravel-oriented electronics add context, but specifications alone cannot prove how a motorcycle performs on a particular trail.
For distance riding, check the features documented for the exact model and market: fuel capacity, windscreen, storage, passenger and luggage provisions, and transmission. Seat height and curb mass can help with initial comparisons, but neither tells the whole story of fit; seat shape and rider proportions matter. Manufacturer descriptions of comfort and versatility are positioning, not independent comfort tests.
The figures below retain their market and model-year context: Suzuki’s cited pages give European specifications, while Honda’s cited pages describe 2026 U.S. models. Honda prices are U.S. base MSRPs before destination charges where noted. The cited Suzuki pages do not provide a matching U.S. price set.

Middleweight and approachable choices
1. Honda NX500
The NX500 is the lower-capacity option in this group. American Honda lists a 471 cc parallel twin, a 32.8-inch seat height, standard ABS, an adjustable windscreen, and 5.9 inches of front and 5.3 inches of rear suspension travel for the 2026 U.S. model. Honda says its ABS supports controlled stops in conditions including rain and gravel; that is the manufacturer’s claim, not an independent test result. The U.S. listing gives a $6,899 base MSRP, plus a $600 destination charge.
Its documented touring conveniences and shorter suspension travel make it a sensible starting point for riders prioritizing manageable scale and paved-road use while retaining some rough-surface flexibility. The figures cannot establish whether its seat or overall fit will suit a particular rider. Honda 2026 NX500 specifications and pricing.
2. Honda Transalp E-Clutch
The 2026 U.S. Transalp E-Clutch pairs a 755 cc parallel twin with a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel, long-travel suspension, five riding modes and Honda E-Clutch. Those wheel sizes and suspension positioning make it one of the more dirt-oriented middleweights in this selection, while its engine capacity and road-going format leave room for touring use. Honda lists a $10,199 base MSRP before a $600 destination charge. The source names the electronic clutch feature but does not establish that every rider will prefer its operation. 3. Suzuki V-Strom 800
Suzuki positions the 2026 V-Strom 800 for paved-road comfort and long-distance touring. That makes it the road-biased counterpart to the 800DE rather than an interchangeable name for the same configuration. Suzuki’s European model page supports the role distinction, but does not provide independent comparative ride results or a matching U.S. price. Suzuki 2026 V-Strom 800.
4. Suzuki V-Strom 800DE
The 2026 V-Strom 800DE is the more mixed-surface choice in Suzuki’s 800 pair. Its European specification lists a 21-inch wire-spoked front wheel, gravel mode, a rear ABS-off mode, 220 mm of front and rear suspension travel, 220 mm of ground clearance and a 20 L fuel tank. Suzuki lists its curb mass at 230 kg and seat height at 855 mm for that European specification. These figures describe its design and equipment, not a guarantee of capability on every surface. 5. Suzuki V-Strom 1050
The European 2027 V-Strom 1050 combines Suzuki’s adventure-touring positioning with a 1,037 cm³ V-twin and 20 L fuel tank. Its listed wheel sizes are 19 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear, with a curb mass of 242 kg and a seat height of 855 mm. Compared with the 1050DE, it has the smaller front wheel and does not carry the DE designation’s documented gravel-focused distinction. These are European model specifications, not U.S. figures. 6. Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE
The 2027 V-Strom 1050DE adds the more dirt-oriented cues in the 1050 family: a 21-inch front wheel, gravel traction mode and rear ABS-off mode. Suzuki’s European specification lists an 880 mm seat height and 252 kg curb mass. The wheel and electronic-control differences help distinguish its intended surface bias from the standard 1050; they do not amount to a tested handling comparison. Suzuki 2027 V-Strom 1050DE.

7. Honda Africa Twin, manual
The 2026 U.S. standard Africa Twin uses a 1,084 cc parallel twin and a six-speed manual transmission. Its 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels are the setup Honda identifies with off-road performance. Honda lists six riding modes, including Tour, Urban, Gravel and Off-Road. The U.S. base MSRP starts at $15,199 before applicable destination charges. Honda 2026 Africa Twin models and pricing.

The DCT version retains the standard Africa Twin’s 1,084 cc engine and 21/18-inch wheel sizes, but pairs them with a six-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission rather than the manual gearbox. It is a transmission choice within the same model family, not a separate wheel or surface configuration. Honda’s 2026 U.S. listing gives a $15,999 base MSRP before applicable destination charges. The 2026 U.S. Adventure Sports ES shifts the Africa Twin formula toward road-focused use with a 19-inch front wheel rather than the standard model’s 21-inch front. Honda lists electronic suspension on the cited Adventure Sports ES trims and a $17,799 base MSRP before applicable destination charges. The comparison illustrates a choice within the Africa Twin range: the standard model’s wheel setup is expressly linked to off-road performance by Honda, while Adventure Sports ES uses the more road-focused front-wheel size. 10. Honda NC750X DCT
The NC750X DCT is useful to consider if automatic transmission and built-in carrying capacity matter more than matching the dirt-oriented hardware of the 21-inch-front-wheel bikes. Honda’s current U.S. adventure lineup page lists a 745 cc engine, automatic Dual-Clutch Transmission, combined ABS and 23 L of integrated storage. The cited listing does not document off-road-specific features on the level of the 21-inch-wheel choices, so it is better understood here as a touring crossover than an equivalent trail-focused option. Choosing among them
- Prioritize approachable scale and paved-road convenience: compare the NX500 with the road-oriented V-Strom 800. The NX500’s cited U.S. page gives more concrete fit and suspension figures; Suzuki’s page states the 800’s touring role.
- Want a middleweight with explicit rough-surface equipment: the Transalp E-Clutch and V-Strom 800DE both have 21-inch front wheels; the Suzuki page additionally lists gravel mode, rear ABS-off, ground clearance and detailed European chassis figures.
- Want a larger touring platform but retain a 21-inch front: consider the V-Strom 1050DE or standard Africa Twin. The Africa Twin offers manual and DCT choices in Honda’s 2026 U.S. range; the Suzuki’s cited figures are European.
- Lean more toward road-focused distance travel: compare the V-Strom 1050 and Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES, noting their 19-inch front wheels. Honda specifies electronic suspension for listed Adventure Sports ES trims.
- Automatic transmission or integrated storage is central: the NC750X DCT has both documented in Honda’s lineup listing, but the cited source does not establish trail-focused capability comparable to the 21-inch-front-wheel models.
Before deciding, verify the exact local-market trim, equipment, seat height, luggage compatibility and current pricing with the manufacturer or dealer. The specifications here do not include independent ride testing, verified inventory or a like-for-like Suzuki/Honda price comparison.
