There is no authoritative, complete ranking of the ten rarest cars Elvis Presley owned. The list below is an editorial selection of ten documented cars associated with him, ordered by the strength of their model-level scarcity evidence and the distinctiveness of their provenance—not an official Graceland ranking. “Rare” can mean a low production total, a particular connection to Elvis, or a notable cultural history; those are different measures. Only the BMW 507 in this selection has a production figure established by the sources cited here.

How to read this list

Graceland’s current museum information names several vehicles on display, while its historical pages describe additional highlights. Those pages identify exhibits, not every car Elvis owned or a ranked inventory. The cars below are included because official Graceland or BMW sources document their connection to Elvis; where the evidence establishes an association but not a production total, the entry says so.

The order gives priority to verifiable model-production evidence, then to the strength of the specific car’s documented history. It should not be read as a ranking of surviving examples.

The 10 rare and distinctive cars

  1. BMW 507, chassis 70079

This is the strongest entry on model rarity that can be quantified: BMW Middle East reported that 254 BMW 507s were built from 1955 to 1959. That is the model’s production total, not a count of surviving cars. BMW identifies Elvis’s car by chassis number 70079 and says he took delivery on December 20, 1958, while stationed in Germany. The company also recounts the car’s return to its original Feather White appearance after a period when its identity was uncertain. 2. 1973 Stutz Blackhawk III

Its distinction rests less on a documented production count than on its exceptional association with Elvis. Graceland calls this Blackhawk III his favorite car and the last automobile he drove in public. The car was restored and returned to the Elvis Presley Automobile Museum; Graceland says the restoration aimed to return it to the condition it was in when Elvis last drove it on August 16, 1977. Graceland’s account says Elvis bought his first Blackhawk in 1970 for $26,500 and acquired three more by 1974; it also says he acquired this 1973 car through a GM lease agreement after a $20,000 deposit. These purchase details are Graceland’s account, not a production-rarity measure. Graceland’s history of the 1973 Stutz Blackhawk III.

  3. 1956 Cadillac Eldorado convertible

Graceland identifies a 1956 Cadillac Eldorado convertible among the automobile museum’s highlights and lists a 1956 Cadillac Eldorado on its visitor information. That establishes its place in the displayed collection, but the cited Graceland descriptions do not give a production total for Elvis’s specific car or a survivor count. 4. 1975 Dino Ferrari

Graceland names a 1975 Dino Ferrari as a museum highlight and includes a Dino Ferrari among the vehicles visitors can see. The cited material does not specify the exact Dino model or establish a production number for Elvis’s example, so its inclusion here reflects documented museum association rather than a quantified rarity claim. Graceland’s museum information; Graceland’s anniversary article.

  5. Pink Cadillac

The Pink Cadillac is among the best-known cars associated with Elvis, and Graceland identifies it as a museum highlight. Its fame is not evidence that the model itself was rare. Graceland’s anniversary account also clarifies a source of confusion: a separate decorative car outside the museum was repainted blue after visitors mistook it for the real Pink Cadillac. 7. Mercedes-Benz limousine

Graceland’s current museum page lists a Mercedes-Benz limousine among the automobiles visitors can see. The cited description does not provide its exact model year, a production figure, or details sufficient to identify a scarcity ranking. Its documented value here is as part of the exhibited collection. Graceland’s Presley Motors Automobile Museum information.

  8. Rolls-Royce sedans

Graceland’s visitor information names Rolls-Royce sedans among its collection highlights. It does not identify a particular Elvis-owned example or state its production or survivor numbers. The plural listing supports their inclusion as collection highlights, not a claim that a specific Rolls-Royce ranks among the rarest. Graceland’s museum information.

  9. 1971 Pantera

Graceland’s 2017 article about its “Gates of Graceland” video describes a 1971 Pantera among Elvis’s stylish cars. That source supports the vehicle’s association, but the information cited here does not identify an exact example history or provide a model production figure. It is therefore a documented, distinctive candidate—not a quantified rarity entry. Graceland’s article on the cars video.

  10. 1956 Lincoln Continental

The same Graceland article names a 1956 Lincoln Continental among the cars featured in its video. The cited source does not establish the specific car’s provenance or a production or survivor count. Its place in this list reflects that documented connection, not a verified low-volume claim. Which car was Elvis’s rarest?

By the model-production figure available here, the BMW 507 is the clearest answer: BMW Middle East gives a total of 254 built between 1955 and 1959, and BMW documents Elvis’s specific car as chassis 70079. That does not establish that it is the rarest surviving car in his collection, because the cited sources do not provide comparable production or survivor figures for the other entries.

By personal significance, the 1973 Stutz Blackhawk III has a strong claim: Graceland describes it as Elvis’s favorite and the last car he drove in public. That is a different kind of distinction from low production.

What Graceland’s collection pages establish

Graceland’s Presley Motors Automobile Museum opened on June 12, 1989. In a June 12, 2014 anniversary article, Graceland said the museum then held more than 20 cars; that dated figure describes the museum at that time, not the total number of cars Elvis owned or today’s exhibit count. Its current visitor page names a Stutz Blackhawk, 1956 Cadillac Eldorado, Dino Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz limousine, Rolls-Royce sedans, and more. The descriptions are useful for identifying exhibits and highlights, but they do not amount to a comprehensive, ranked ownership inventory.
