Electric motorcycles moved beyond a handful of premium curiosities in 2024. Established manufacturers introduced small urban machines, specialist brands pushed removable-battery designs, and Can-Am prepared its return to two wheels with an entirely new electric platform.
There is an important distinction in this list: some motorcycles were genuine 2024 models, while others were announced during 2024 for the 2025 model year. The latter still deserve attention because they showed where electric motorcycle development was heading next.

1. LiveWire S2 Del Mar
The S2 Del Mar was one of the most significant electric motorcycles to reach the U.S. market for 2024. Its street-tracker styling made it less intimidating than the larger LiveWire One, while the S2 platform brought a more approachable price and size.

That difference matters: an electric motorcycle’s urban range figure should not be treated as a motorway estimate. A 20–80% Level 2 charge was listed at 78 minutes.

- Dual Hydraulic Disc Brakes & Steel Frame** - Large front and rear brake discs deliver consistent stopping power in mud, water, and sand. Reinforced steel frame supports up to 265 lbs while maintaining agile handling.
- TUV Certified & 1-Year Warranty** - Meets strict safety standards for electric bicycles. Easy assemble with tools included. US-based customer support and replacement parts available nationwide.
The original U.S. MSRP was $15,499. Buyers considering a used or remaining 2024 example should also check its recall history. Certain 2024 S2 Del Mar motorcycles were subject to an NHTSA recall involving software-related powertrain shutdowns, so the vehicle identification number and repair status deserve verification before purchase.
2. LiveWire S2 Mulholland
The S2 Mulholland took the same basic LiveWire platform in a cruiser-oriented direction. Its low, relaxed visual treatment separated it from the Del Mar without turning it into a conventional heavyweight cruiser.
LiveWire listed 84 horsepower, 194 lb-ft of torque, a 99-mph top speed and a claimed 0–60 mph time of 3.3 seconds. Its published city range was 120 miles, while the 10.5-kWh battery used the same 20–80% Level 2 charging window of approximately 78 minutes.
It was sold as a 2024 model in the United States. That point is easy to miss because later model-year coverage and pricing changes made the Mulholland look like a newer arrival. LiveWire’s 2024 purchase incentives also specifically included new 2024 S2 Mulholland motorcycles.
3. BMW CE 02
BMW did not describe the CE 02 as a conventional motorcycle or scooter. Instead, it called the compact machine an “eParkourer,” reflecting its upright riding position, small-wheel urban proportions and deliberately unconventional design.
The U.S. specification used two removable, air-cooled battery packs, each rated at 1.96 kWh. Maximum output was 11 kW, or approximately 15 horsepower. Removing the batteries can be useful for apartment dwellers or riders without a convenient charging point beside the bike, although carrying battery packs indoors is a different ownership proposition from plugging in a full-size motorcycle.
BMW announced U.S. availability for spring 2024. Prospective buyers should distinguish this 15-hp U.S. version from lower-power CE 02 variants sold for different licensing categories in some markets. The name is shared, but the performance and licensing assumptions are not necessarily the same.

4. 2024 Kawasaki Ninja e-1
The Ninja e-1 brought Kawasaki’s familiar sportbike silhouette to its first mass-production battery-electric motorcycles. It was not simply a Ninja 400 with its engine removed: the electric powertrain, battery packaging and operating modes gave it a distinctly different brief.

The U.S. model used two removable lithium-ion battery packs. Kawasaki quoted approximately 41 miles of range in Road mode without e-Boost, a Road-mode top speed of 55 mph and a maximum of 65 mph when e-Boost was activated.
e-Boost is temporary assistance rather than the motorcycle’s normal continuous top-speed specification. That distinction is important when comparing it with petrol motorcycles or with electric models that quote a single unrestricted top-speed number. The Ninja e-1 was sold in the U.S. as a 2024 model, although Kawasaki began introducing the family in select markets in late 2023.
5. 2024 Kawasaki Z e-1
The Z e-1 shared the Ninja e-1’s electric powertrain and removable-battery concept, but replaced the sportbike fairing with the upright bodywork associated with Kawasaki’s Z range. That makes it the more natural choice for riders who prioritize an open riding position and everyday maneuverability.
Its headline figures were broadly the same: approximately 41 miles of Road-mode range, 55 mph in standard Road mode and up to 65 mph with temporary e-Boost. Kawasaki also equipped it with two power modes, WALK mode with reverse assistance, ABS and smartphone connectivity through RIDEOLOGY THE APP MOTORCYCLE.
The Z e-1 deserves its own place rather than being treated as a trim level of the Ninja. The two motorcycles target different riding positions and visual preferences, even though their underlying electric hardware is closely related.
6. Maeving RM1S
Maeving’s RM1S was a faster, more capable development of the company’s RM1 commuter motorcycle. Unveiled in April 2024, it was designed to address one of the limitations of lightweight urban electric bikes: the inability to keep up comfortably on faster roads.
Maeving quoted an 11.1-kW peak output, a 70-mph top speed and up to 80 miles of combined range. It used two removable batteries, allowing charging away from the motorcycle. The company’s figures also showed how strongly riding conditions affected the result: up to 90 miles was quoted in a mode limited to 45 mph, while Sport mode could reduce the claimed range to 52 miles.

Riders who expect to use the RM1S at its performance limit should plan around the lower figure, not the headline urban estimate. U.K. preorders started from £7,495, with U.S. availability following later, including deliveries in California.

7. Ryvid Outset
Ryvid launched the Outset in May 2024 as its second electric motorcycle. It used the company’s existing platform in a more stripped-back, utility-focused package and aimed to make electric two-wheel transport less expensive than many established-brand alternatives.
The announced U.S. MSRP was $5,995. Ryvid claimed a top speed above 75 mph and up to 70 miles of range. That range should be read with care: it is a manufacturer claim dependent on conditions and speed, not a promise of 70 miles of sustained highway travel.
The Outset’s appeal was therefore less about matching a long-distance petrol motorcycle and more about offering enough performance for urban roads, commuting and shorter mixed-use trips at a comparatively accessible starting price.

8. Can-Am Pulse
Can-Am announced the Pulse on August 20, 2024, marking the company’s return to motorcycles with a road-focused electric model. It was not, however, a 2024 model-year motorcycle. The Pulse was designated a 2025 model and should be described as coming after its 2024 announcement.
The naked urban motorcycle used a liquid-cooled Rotax E-Power drivetrain. Can-Am quoted 47 horsepower, a 0–60-mph time of 3.8 seconds, 100 miles of city range and 80 miles of combined range. A 20–80% Level 2 charge was expected to take approximately 50 minutes.
Unlike the smaller Kawasaki e-1 models, the Pulse was positioned as a full-size electric motorcycle with enough performance for broader road use. Its eventual real-world range, charging access and pricing would be more important to owners than the acceleration figure alone.

The Origin was announced alongside the Pulse but took Can-Am’s electric platform in a dual-sport direction. Long-travel suspension and an off-road riding mode gave it a wider brief than the Pulse, at least on paper.
Can-Am listed 47 horsepower, a claimed 0–60-mph time of 4.3 seconds, 90 miles of city range and 71 miles of combined range. Like the Pulse, it was expected to charge from 20–80% on Level 2 power in around 50 minutes.

- Note: Before riding, please ensure that the brakes/wheels and other devices of the IN10 ebike are installed correctly. Before purchasing, check the local legal age or license requirements to ensure legal use. Teens should operate the bike only under adult supervision and must follow all local safety regulations.
The Origin was a 2025 model announced during 2024, not a new 2024 motorcycle. That model-year distinction matters when looking through listings, insurance records and used-bike pricing. It also means the range and equipment claims were launch specifications rather than evidence that the motorcycle was widely available throughout 2024.
10. Verge TS Ultra
Verge’s TS Ultra represented the most futuristic idea in this group. Its rear-wheel motor was built into a hubless wheel design, removing the conventional central hub and spokes. The motorcycle was also promoted with Verge’s Starmatter software and sensor system.
Contemporary reports quoted approximately 201 horsepower, 1,200 Nm of torque, a claimed 0–60-mph time of 2.5 seconds and a 124-mph top speed. Those are extraordinary figures, but they should be treated as announced or claimed specifications rather than independently confirmed everyday performance.

What to check before buying a 2024 electric motorcycle
- Separate city range from highway range. City riding allows more regenerative braking and lower average speeds. The LiveWire S2 figures and Maeving RM1S figures show how sharply range can change when speed rises.
- Check the charging setup. A removable battery is valuable if the motorcycle cannot be parked near an outlet. A larger fixed battery may be preferable for riders with reliable Level 2 access.
- Confirm the exact model year. The 2025 Can-Am Pulse and Origin were announced in 2024, while the Kawasaki and LiveWire motorcycles were sold as 2024 models.
- Verify recalls and software updates. Electric powertrains still depend on control software. For an S2 Del Mar, check the VIN and confirm that any applicable powertrain-shutdown recall work has been completed.
- Ask what the advertised top speed means. Kawasaki’s e-Boost is temporary, and a manufacturer’s range or speed claim may depend on a specific mode and test condition.
FAQ
Which electric motorcycles were actually 2024 models?
The 2024-model lineup included the LiveWire S2 Del Mar, LiveWire S2 Mulholland, BMW CE 02, Kawasaki Ninja e-1 and Kawasaki Z e-1. Maeving RM1S and Ryvid Outset were also launched during 2024. The Can-Am Pulse and Origin were announced in 2024 but were designated 2025 models.
Which 2024 electric motorcycle had the longest claimed range?
Among the motorcycles listed, the LiveWire S2 Mulholland had a claimed 120-mile city range. Its highway or combined range should not be assumed to equal that figure; riding speed and conditions make a substantial difference.
Can the Kawasaki Ninja e-1 travel 150 miles?
No. The U.S. specification was listed at approximately 41 miles in Road mode without e-Boost. Its range depends on conditions, but the 150-mile claim is not an accurate figure for this model.
Are the Can-Am Pulse and Origin 2024 motorcycles?
They were announced on August 20, 2024, but both were 2025 model-year motorcycles. In a 2024 buying guide they should be described as upcoming models rather than bikes that were broadly available during the 2024 model year.
The Bottom Line
2024 was a varied year for electric motorcycles rather than a single breakthrough moment. The LiveWire S2 models offered the most substantial road-going performance in this group, Kawasaki made electric motorcycles available in familiar sport and naked-bike forms, and BMW, Maeving and Ryvid focused on lighter urban machines. Can-Am’s Pulse and Origin pointed toward the next model year, while Verge showed how far electric motorcycle design could go when conventional wheel and motor layouts were abandoned.
For buyers, the useful comparison is not the largest horsepower or range number. Check the model year, charging method, realistic riding speed, local service support and recall status before treating any specification sheet as a ownership forecast.
