Kawasaki’s October 1, 2024 U.S. announcement covered 2025-model-year street motorcycles across 11 styles, from hypersport and sport touring to cruisers and dual-sports. The headline is the range—not a claim that every model was redesigned. The most substantial update called out in the release set is the Ninja 1100SX, while the supercharged Ninja models illustrate why intended use matters as much as the badge. Kawasaki said the motorcycles were expected at U.S. dealerships in fall 2024; that launch timing and the prices below are historical, not confirmation of current stock or pricing.
What’s new for Kawasaki in 2025?
Kawasaki’s U.S. release grouped its street range into 11 styles: hypersport, supersport, sport, retro classic, hypernaked, supernaked, mini naked, retro sport, cruiser, adventure touring, and dual-sport. That breadth is the announcement’s clearest takeaway. It spans different riding positions and purposes, but does not mean every motorcycle received a new design or major mechanical change. Kawasaki’s October 1, 2024 U.S. lineup announcement is the source for the range and its launch framing.
Which Kawasaki 2025 motorcycles were announced?
1. The supercharged Ninja models are not interchangeable
Kawasaki distinguishes the Ninja H2 ABS and H2 Carbon ABS as street-legal hypersport motorcycles, while the Ninja H2R ABS is expressly for closed-course circuits. The Ninja H2 SX SE ABS occupies a different role: sport touring. Kawasaki lists rider-assistance features for the SX SE including adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, blind-spot detection, and tire-pressure monitoring. The H2R’s closed-course designation is a practical dividing line, not simply another trim distinction.
2. The Ninja 1100SX is the clearest sport-touring update
Kawasaki described the Ninja 1100SX as entering its fifth generation for 2025. Its inline-four displacement rose from 1,043cc to 1,099cc; the company said the change was intended to strengthen low-to-midrange torque. The release also identifies an improved quick shifter, a handlebar USB Type-C outlet, and app voice control. Those are the concrete changes to compare against earlier 1100SX specifications rather than assuming a wholesale redesign.

3. The 1100SX SE adds specific premium components
The SE version’s named hardware is an Öhlins S46 rear shock, Brembo M4.32 front calipers and brake system, and heated grips. Kawasaki’s U.S. release listed launch MSRPs of $13,699 for the 2025 Ninja 1100SX ABS and $15,399 for the 2025 Ninja 1100SX SE ABS, with winter 2025 availability. These are dated manufacturer launch figures; they do not establish present-day dealer prices, inventory, or transaction costs. See the dedicated U.S. Ninja 1100SX announcement for Kawasaki’s model and equipment details.
4. The 2025 Ninja announcements arrived in stages
The October lineup release was not Kawasaki’s first notice of every 2025 street Ninja. An earlier U.S. announcement, dated June 4, 2024, named the returning Ninja ZX-10R, ZX-10RR, ZX-6R, and Ninja 650. Kawasaki identifies a 998cc engine for the ZX-10R and a 636cc engine for the ZX-6R. The dates matter when interpreting the fall release: a model’s absence from that particular announcement does not show it was omitted from the 2025 range. Kawasaki’s June Ninja supersport announcement provides that earlier U.S. context.

5. The lineup includes smaller sport and mini-naked choices
The fall U.S. announcement includes Ninja 500 variants powered by a 451cc parallel twin, alongside the 125cc Z125 PRO mini naked. Kawasaki lists extra equipment on the Ninja 500 SE, including TFT instrumentation, USB-C, a larger windshield, frame sliders, a tank pad, and knee grip pads. These models broaden the range beyond the high-performance Ninja nameplates; compare the exact trim’s equipment rather than treating all Ninja 500 versions as identically equipped.
6. Retro styling appears in multiple families
The U.S. release includes the W800 ABS and Z650RS and Z900RS ABS variants. Kawasaki’s separate European EICMA preview also featured the W230 and Meguro S1: the W230 draws on W-series heritage, while the Meguro S1 references the 1960s SG model. Those two examples belong to the European announcement and should not be read as confirmation that they were included in the U.S. lineup. Kawasaki Europe’s EICMA announcement gives the regional context.

7. Kawasaki’s cruiser range takes more than one approach
The announcement includes the lower, upright Eliminator family and Vulcan models, including the Vulcan S and 900 variants. One useful point of comparison is fit adjustment: Kawasaki says the Vulcan S ERGO-FIT system offers 18 possible configurations. That is a manufacturer-stated configuration count, not a measure of comfort for every rider; seating position and reach still need to suit the individual.
8. Adventure touring and dual-sport emphasize different priorities
Kawasaki describes the Versys-X 300 ABS as a lightweight commuting and touring option, with long-travel suspension and a rear carrier. The KLR650 S takes a different tack for riders prioritizing a lower seat: its description specifies lowered front and rear suspension, a low seat, a revised shifter-to-footpeg distance, and a shorter side stand compared with the standard KLR650. The Versys-X’s touring equipment and the KLR650 S’s lower-seat configuration answer different needs; neither description alone establishes real-world ease or comfort for a particular rider.

How should you compare Kawasaki’s 2025 models?
Start with intended use, then compare the equipment and fit of the specific model and trim. Kawasaki’s descriptions are manufacturer material, not independent road tests or comparative performance measurements.
- Use: Distinguish closed-course motorcycles from street-legal models, and sport from sport touring, commuting, cruising, and dual-sport roles.
- Engine and character: Check displacement and engine format, but do not treat displacement alone as a performance ranking.
- Ergonomics: Compare riding position, seat height, adjustability, and the reach to controls against your own needs.
- Equipment: Separate standard-model features from SE or other trim additions, including suspension, brakes, electronics, and touring accessories.
- Market and date: Confirm that a model or specification applies to your country and model year. The main lineup release is U.S.-focused; the W230 and Meguro S1 examples above come from Kawasaki Europe.
