What “Arnold Schwarzenegger’s car collection” means
The vehicles below are selected for their unusual character, the stories Schwarzenegger told about them, or their place in his reported garage lineups. Ownership status is noted individually because the evidence spans interviews from different years. In a 2010 interview with WELT, Schwarzenegger estimated that his family had roughly 15 to 20 vehicles across several homes; that was his estimate at the time, not a present-day count. The interviews do not establish a current collection-wide total or a definitive ranked top ten.

1. Customized Hummer H1
Status: Long-running personal association; current ownership is not established. Schwarzenegger’s attachment to large military-derived vehicles goes back to childhood and his early wish to become a tank driver. Top Gear’s 2013 interview describes his Hummer interest alongside other military-style vehicles. A 2021 retrospective by LA NACION reports a customized H1 with “Terminator” lettering and says he had owned as many as seven Hummers. That retrospective count should not be read as a current inventory.
2. Electric Hummer
Status: Included in Schwarzenegger’s 2019 garage account. In an AUTO BILD interview that year, he said his converted electric Hummer produced 500 horsepower, compared with 220 horsepower before conversion. Those figures are his account of the conversion, not independently verified test results. The electric version is a striking chapter in a vehicle line more commonly associated with large, conventional off-roaders.

3. Hydrogen Hummer
Status: Reported by Schwarzenegger in interviews in 2013 and 2019. He named a hydrogen Hummer in both his 2013 Top Gear interview and 2019 Top Gear interview. The accounts establish that he described having one at those times; they do not document its present status or provide a verified technical specification.
4. Biofuel Hummers
Status: Reported in changing interview snapshots. In 2013, Schwarzenegger mentioned one biofuel Hummer; in his 2019 Top Gear garage account, he said he had two. The different counts belong to different moments and should not be collapsed into a single enduring total. Together with his electric and hydrogen examples, they show his interest in alternative-fuel versions of the Hummer.

5. Electric Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen
Status: Included in the 2019 garage account. Schwarzenegger said he had sent a previous-generation G-Wagen to Austrian company Kreisel for an electric conversion. The vehicle pairs the familiar boxy, off-road-focused Mercedes design with an electric powertrain; the interview does not establish whether it remains in his possession.
6. Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse
Status: Formerly owned. In 2019, Schwarzenegger told Top Gear he had owned the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse for three years and driven it just 1,200 miles in that period. He said its limited ground clearance and the need to plan where to park made it inconvenient to use. The car was exciting, but its practical compromises help explain why a celebrated supercar could spend so much of its ownership lightly driven.

7. Excalibur convertible
Status: Personal favorite in Schwarzenegger’s 2019 account; present ownership is not confirmed. He called the Excalibur “the most fun car to drive” and said, “I just love convertibles,” in Top Gear. In a 2010 WELT interview, he described his Excalibur as a replica classic equipped with modern technology. Its appeal in his telling was less about status than the enjoyment of open-top motoring.
8. GMC Yukon
Status: Described as his daily vehicle in the 2019 interview. Schwarzenegger told Top Gear that he used the Yukon in everyday driving, including daytime trips and snowy conditions. The account gives a practical counterpoint to the collection’s conspicuous supercars and specialized trucks: a large SUV that he said served routine needs at that time.

9. Mercedes-Benz Unimog
Status: Reported in the 2013 and 2019 Top Gear interviews. Schwarzenegger said he had recently taken custody of a Unimog in 2013, and named it among his military-style trucks in 2019. It fits the same heavy-duty, utility-oriented side of his vehicle interests as the Hummer, but the interviews do not specify a current ownership status.
10. Bentley Continental GTC
Status: Named among his vehicles in the 2013 interview; current ownership is not established. The Top Gear conversation also mentions a Mercedes SLS Roadster, Dodge Challenger, and tank, illustrating that the reported roster extended beyond trucks and SUVs. The Bentley earns a place here as a memorable luxury convertible alongside the more utilitarian and alternative-fuel vehicles.

Why the roster changes across interviews
Schwarzenegger’s accounts are time-stamped snapshots rather than an audited catalogue. The 2013 Top Gear interview names a tank, Bentley Continental GTC, Mercedes SLS Roadster, Dodge Challenger, and Unimog, while the 2019 interview describes a different garage mix that includes an electric Hummer, electric G-Wagen, GMC Yukon, fuel-converted Hummers, Excalibur, and Ford station wagon. The 2019 interview also identifies the Bugatti as a former ownership story. His comments make clear that vehicles could be acquired, modified, or moved on; an item appearing in an older interview does not prove it is still in his garage.
His own remarks also suggest a distinction between cars that impress and cars he enjoys using. He told Top Gear, “I found that the more basic a car is, the more fun you have, and the more relaxed you can be.” That sentiment sits comfortably beside his account of the Excalibur as a pleasure to drive and the Bugatti as an impractical car to park and use.
