The fastest factory turbocharged car in the 2024 rankings is the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, which Autocar India listed at 490.37 km/h (about 304.7 mph). That figure is about 0.1 km/h below the record speed Bugatti published in 2019. Beyond the top spot, the order is a reported-speed order, not a verified one. The 2024 lists mix recorded, claimed and simulated numbers, and the table below keeps those differences visible, including two entries whose engine layout the cited sources do not state.
How the ranking is defined
- “In 2024” means listed in a 2024 ranking. The two lists used are Autocar India’s “Top 10 fastest cars in the world,” dated July 4, 2024, and The Car Guide’s “Top 10 Fastest Cars in the World (2024)”. The year describes when the ranking was published. It does not establish the model year or whether each car was on sale during 2024.
- “Factory turbocharged” means a turbo engine fitted by the manufacturer. Battery-electric cars are excluded even though both lists include them.
- Order is by reported top speed. Autocar India’s decimal kph figure is used where it appears. The Car Guide’s whole-number figures fill the gaps. Mph conversions are rounded to one decimal place.
- Evidence labels stay attached. A record run, a claimed figure, a development result and a simulation are not treated as one test standard, even though they share one column.
The ten fastest turbocharged cars by reported top speed
Positions follow the reported figure. Read the evidence column before comparing any two rows.
| Rank | Car | Reported top speed | Engine as stated | Evidence label |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ | 490.37 km/h (304.7 mph) | 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 | Record run per Bugatti’s 2019 release; Autocar India figure |
| 2 | SSC Tuatara | 474.76 km/h (295.0 mph) | 5.9-litre twin-turbo V8 | Reported; test conditions not stated in the 2024 sources |
| 3 | Zenvo Aurora | 450.62 km/h (280.0 mph) | 6.6-litre quad-turbo V12 | Claimed, as labelled by Autocar India |
| 4 | Koenigsegg Agera RS | 447.08 km/h (277.8 mph) | 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 | Reported; test conditions not stated in the 2024 sources |
| 5 | Bugatti Chiron Super Sport | 439 km/h (272.8 mph) | Not stated in The Car Guide entry | Reported in The Car Guide only; turbo layout not confirmed by the sources |
| 6 | Hennessey Venom F5 | 437.1 km/h (271.6 mph) | 6.6-litre twin-turbo V8 | Reported; consistent with Hennessey’s development runs above 270 mph |
| 7 | Hennessey Venom GT | 435.17 km/h (270.4 mph) | 7.0-litre twin-turbo V8 | Reported; test conditions not stated in the 2024 sources |
| 8 | Bugatti Veyron Super Sport | 430.98 km/h (267.8 mph) | 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 | Reported; test conditions not stated in the 2024 sources |
| 9 | Koenigsegg Agera R | 418 km/h (259.7 mph) | Not stated in The Car Guide entry | Reported in The Car Guide only; turbo layout not confirmed by the sources |
| 10 | Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut | 412.72 km/h (256.5 mph) | Twin-turbo V8 per Koenigsegg’s engine page | Claimed; not validated on certified track data, per The Car Guide |
The eleventh entry by reported speed is the SSC Ultimate Aero TT at 412 km/h (256.0 mph) in The Car Guide. Its engine layout is not stated there, so it sits outside the ten. Rows 5 and 9 come only from The Car Guide, which does not state their engine layouts, so their turbo status is not confirmed by the sources cited here.
What the top of the list shows
Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+: a record for the derivative, built as a 30-unit edition
Bugatti’s September 9, 2019 press release describes the Chiron Super Sport 300+ as a 30-unit limited edition based on the record-breaking derivative. It gives 304.773 mph (490.484 km/h) as the record speed. The release presents the special edition as a follow-on to that record, not as proof that each of the 30 customer cars has run the same speed. Bugatti’s president, Stephan Winkelmann, said: “After the incredible speed record of more than 300 miles per hour, which we were the first series manufacturer to achieve, we’re now offering our customers the Super Sport 300+ – a very special edition model and the fastest Bugatti ever”.

Hennessey Venom F5: development speed set against a simulated figure
Hennessey’s February 20, 2024 release says the Venom F5 has exceeded 270 mph in development and calls breaking 300 mph in two directions a goal. It gives 328 mph as a simulated, theoretical figure. John Hennessey, the company’s founder and CEO, said: “Our hypercar has a simulated theoretical top speed of 328mph, but we’re certainly not chasing that number.” The table uses Autocar India’s 437.1 km/h (271.6 mph), which fits the development claim of more than 270 mph. The sources do not say the two figures come from the same run, and the 328 mph simulation is not used for ranking.
Claimed and unvalidated figures: Zenvo Aurora and Jesko Absolut
Autocar India labels the Zenvo Aurora’s 450.62 km/h as claimed, and the list gives no test method for it. Its 1,875.66 hp figure is the highest horsepower value in that Autocar list, but it does not establish the speed. The Jesko Absolut’s 412.72 km/h appears in Autocar India’s list, while The Car Guide excludes it because its claimed speed had not been validated on a track with certified data-recording equipment. It stays at position 10 here with that label attached.

Horsepower does not set the order
The most powerful cars in the lists are not the fastest. The Venom F5 (1,842.2 hp) and the Aurora (1,875.66 hp, claimed) both produce more power than the Tuatara (1,774.27 hp), yet rank well below it on reported speed. The Chiron Super Sport 300+ makes 1,599.89 hp and still ranks first.
For the Jesko, Koenigsegg’s engine page describes the redesigned twin-turbo V8 as producing 1,280 hp on gasoline and 1,600 hp on E85. The page does not give a top speed, and its publication date is not stated on the version accessed. These are fuel-dependent engine outputs, not road-speed evidence.

What the 2024 sources do not settle
- No common test program. Neither list describes one, so a gap of a few km/h between two rows cannot show which car is faster.
- Availability in 2024. The lists do not establish which of these models, or which trims, were on sale during 2024.
- Later changes. These sources predate 2026. They do not reflect any record, update or model change published after 2024.
