For a U.S.-market shortlist, a useful screen for “blistering speed with long range” is a published 0–60 mph time under about four seconds and roughly 300 or more EPA-estimated miles. The Lucid Air Sapphire is the clearest match in the available figures: Lucid states 427 EPA-estimated miles and a 1.89-second 0–60 mph time. The other candidates range from performance sedans to electric pickups and SUVs, so the best fit depends on more than acceleration.
The comparison below uses figures from ElectricCompare’s list of new battery-electric vehicles on sale in the United States, updated October 7, 2026, except where a manufacturer source is identified. Treat these as published claims, not independent, like-for-like test results. EPA range is an estimate; actual range and acceleration vary with trim, wheels, launch settings, weather, speed, and driving conditions.
10 fast EVs with long range in the U.S.
The table is ordered by the published 0–60 mph figures in ElectricCompare’s October 7, 2026 comparison. Its range column gives EPA miles. The range and acceleration thresholds are an editorial screen, not an industry standard. Lucid’s Grand Touring figure is included separately because the manufacturer describes its range as projected rather than EPA-estimated.
| Model | Published range | Published 0–60 mph | What to weigh |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lucid Air Sapphire | 427 EPA-estimated miles | 1.89 seconds | Exceptional claimed acceleration and long range in a sedan. Lucid also states 1,234 hp; these are manufacturer production specifications, not an independent test. |
| Rivian R1T Quad | 374 miles | 2.5 seconds | A pickup that pairs strong acceleration with substantial published range; compare its utility and size with a sedan before treating the figures as directly comparable. |
| Rivian R1S Quad | 374 miles | 2.5 seconds | An SUV alternative to the R1T, with the same figures in the comparison. Passenger and cargo needs will help distinguish the two. |
| Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast | 335 miles | 2.6 seconds | A fast electric pickup with less listed range than the Rivian Quad models in this comparison. |
| Tesla Model 3 Performance | 314 miles | 2.9 seconds | A performance sedan that clears the approximate range screen, with less listed range than the Air and several larger vehicles here. |
| GMC Hummer EV Pickup 3X | 363 miles | 3.0 seconds | A large electric pickup whose acceleration and utility come in a very different package from a performance sedan. |
| Tesla Model Y Performance | 306 miles | 3.5 seconds | An SUV-shaped option near the shortlist’s approximate 300-mile threshold. |
| Rivian R2 Performance AWD | 330 miles | 3.6 seconds | A candidate in the comparison, but check current delivery timing and specifications because availability and model-year status can change. |
| Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC | 371 miles | 3.9 seconds | A luxury sedan at the slower end of this list’s under-four-second screen. |
ElectricCompare’s comparison supplies the figures for these nine entries. Its numbers are secondary-source data; confirm the current model-year configuration and EPA listing before making a purchase decision. Model-year details, availability, and ratings can change.

Lucid Air Sapphire: the clearest match
Lucid’s August 8, 2023 production-specification announcement states 427 EPA-estimated miles, 1,234 hp, and a 1.89-second 0–60 mph time for the Air Sapphire. Those are the company’s published specifications, not a result from an independent test. Lucid Group’s production specifications
Lucid Air Grand Touring: more range, with a different qualifier
Lucid’s current Air Grand Touring page advertises up to 512 projected miles, 819 hp, a 3.0-second 0–60 mph time, and a 168 mph top speed. The range is explicitly labeled projected, so it should not be presented as an EPA estimate or compared to EPA figures as though the terms were identical. The page’s wording is manufacturer advertising, not independent test data. Lucid Air Grand Touring specifications

How to choose between speed, range, and utility
These vehicles do not serve the same job. A sedan, SUV, and pickup can share a quick 0–60 claim while differing substantially in passenger space, cargo use, size, and road-trip fit. The table’s acceleration and range values are two comparison points—not a complete ranking of ownership practicality.
- Start with body style and use. Decide whether you need a sedan, SUV, or pickup and how much passenger or cargo capacity matters. A pickup’s utility is not captured by its 0–60 time.
- Check the exact trim and configuration. The listed result applies to a named version, not every vehicle sold under the same model name. Wheel choice and equipment can affect the relevant specification.
- Read the range label carefully. EPA-estimated miles and a manufacturer’s projected range are different claims. Use the current model-year EPA information for an apples-to-apples U.S. range comparison.
- Interpret launch claims in context. Published acceleration figures can depend on launch mode and conditions; they do not promise the same result in every drive.
- Verify current availability and price. Both can shift. No durable price comparison is established here, so check the current manufacturer or authorized-dealer listing for the configuration you want.
Why advertised range and real-world range differ
An EPA estimate is a standardized rating, not a promise of the distance a particular driver will cover. Driving speed, weather, route, and vehicle configuration can change real-world results. A useful example of the distinction—but not a direct comparison with the vehicles above—is Tom’s Guide’s August 2026 review of a different Lucid Air trim: its 2026 Air Touring test covered 266.9 miles and returned average efficiency of 3.63 mi/kWh. Those are that outlet’s observations from its test, not an EPA rating or a prediction for the Sapphire, Grand Touring, or other models on this list. Tom’s Guide’s 2026 Lucid Air Touring review

Fast EVs that miss the long-range screen
High acceleration does not guarantee roughly 300 EPA miles. Two performance-focused models illustrate the trade-off and fall outside the shortlist’s range screen.
2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 N
Hyundai lists 221 EPA-estimated miles for the 2026 IONIQ 5 N and describes an approximately 3.25-second 0–60 mph time when N Launch Control and N Grin Boost are engaged. The specified launch and boost modes matter to that acceleration claim; its EPA range is well below the shortlist threshold. Hyundai’s 2026 IONIQ 5 N specifications

2026 Porsche Taycan Turbo GT
Porsche’s U.S. range table lists 276 EPA-estimated miles for the 2026 Taycan Turbo GT, or 269 miles with the Weissach package. That makes it another performance-first exception rather than a roughly 300-mile-range pick. Porsche’s Taycan range estimates
