The real cars are the inspiration; their arcade-game upgrades and performance are not a guide to how they drive in real life.
Why Midnight Club 3’s car list still stands out
Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition brought licensed real-world vehicles into the series. Rockstar producer Mark Garone told GameSpot in 2004 that manufacturers had begun allowing vehicle damage in games, and that the team chose to use licensed models. He described a roster of 19 vehicle licenses and more than 60 vehicles in total—historical figures for that game, not a measure of popularity.
The roster reached beyond tuner cars. GameSpot’s interview table included classics and muscle cars alongside luxury sedans, SUVs, exotics and motorcycles. DUB also advised the team on which parts suited which cars. Garone said, “All of the parts in the game are licensed, so almost any ride you can create in real life, you can do in Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition.” That was a statement about the game’s licensed customization, not a claim that every car was sold as a factory DUB edition.
GameSpot’s September 9, 2004 interview with Rockstar producer Mark Garone explains the licensing and customization choices. Remix kept the original game’s cities, cars and music while adding 24 vehicles, Tokyo, new music, races and battle maps, according to Take-Two’s February 3, 2006 announcement. The ten picks below reflect that mix of styles; they are not a ranked list of player favorites.

- DETAILED SUSPENSION & EXHAUST: The kit incorporates separate rear suspension and exhaust detailing, adding to the realism of the model.
- BUCKET SEATS & CONSOLE: The model's interior features bucket seats and a floor shifter with a console, capturing the iconic look and feel of the GTO.

10 Midnight Club cars we’d love to own
1. 1964 Chevrolet Impala — classic lowrider presence
The Impala is a natural choice for anyone drawn to the game’s custom-car side. Its full-size 1960s proportions give it a different kind of presence from the compact tuners and track-focused exotics: it looks at home as a carefully styled cruiser. The manual’s licensing text identifies the 1964 model, and GameSpot’s roster excerpt also includes it.
2. 1969 Chevrolet Camaro — unmistakable muscle-car shape
The first-generation Camaro brings a long-hood, short-deck profile and a distinctly American muscle-car character. It is a strong pick for a garage that needs something more sculptural and old-school than a modern sports car. The 1969 Camaro appears in GameSpot’s published roster excerpt.
Rank #2
3. Chevrolet Corvette Z06 — a focused American sports car
The Corvette Z06 adds a lower, more performance-oriented shape to the list without leaving the American-car theme behind. It sits between the classic muscle picks and the more exotic entries: instantly recognizable, but designed around a sports-car silhouette. GameSpot’s roster table specifies the Z06 variant.
4. Dodge Charger R/T-SE — imposing four-door muscle
The Charger’s appeal is its scale and stance. It brings muscle-car attitude in a larger, more practical-looking body than the Camaro, making it an appealing choice for someone who wants a dramatic street car rather than a two-seat exotic. GameSpot lists the Charger R/T-SE in its partial roster table.
Rank #3

5. Chrysler 300C — luxury with a broad-shouldered look
The 300C offers a more formal kind of presence: a luxury sedan with a bold, upright shape that contrasts with the game’s smaller coupes. It is the pick for a real-world dream garage that values road presence as much as sporty proportions. GameSpot’s roster excerpt includes the 300C.
6. Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 V-Spec — tuner icon
The R34 GT-R is one of the list’s defining tuner choices. Its compact, purposeful shape and motorsport associations make it an easy bridge between a street-car build and a performance-focused one. Rockstar’s Midnight Club 3 manual names the Skyline GT-R R34 V-Spec, so the variant matters: this is not a claim that every R34 version appears in the game.

- THE PERFECT PRESENT: Don't know what to get dad for his birthday? Or maybe you have an avid hobbyist or collector in your life. This model kit makes an ideal gift for any occasion!
7. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution — rally-bred tuner character
The Lancer Evolution brings a different tuner identity from the Skyline: a four-door shape and rally-car associations rather than a coupe-like grand-touring profile. It suits players who prefer a purposeful, compact performance sedan. GameSpot’s roster excerpt confirms the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, though the excerpt does not specify a generation.
8. Toyota Supra — a compelling tuner pick, with an edition caveat
The Supra belongs in this lineup for its recognizable tuner appeal and the way it complements the Skyline and Evolution. However, the available roster references do not establish the exact edition-level details as clearly as they do for several other picks. The game manual should be consulted for the precise in-game variant; this entry should not be read as identifying a specific year or trim.

9. Lamborghini Murciélago — the exotic centerpiece
The Murciélago is the list’s full-on exotic: low, wide and unmistakably theatrical. It changes the collection’s character from modified street cars to a supercar fantasy, which is exactly why it earns a place among the most memorable cars to imagine owning. Rockstar’s manual includes the Murciélago in its licensing text.
10. Saleen S7 — rare-looking American supercar
The Saleen S7 provides an exotic silhouette with a distinctly American identity. Its dramatic proportions make it a fitting final pick for a roster that moves from classics through tuners and luxury cars to supercars. GameSpot’s roster excerpt explicitly lists the Saleen S7.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the list says about Midnight Club’s car culture
The appeal is not that every car belongs to one scene. It is the variety: the Impala and Camaro represent classic American customization; the Charger and 300C bring larger-bodied presence; the Skyline, Evolution and Supra reflect tuner culture; and the Murciélago and S7 deliver exotic-car spectacle. The original game’s licensed parts and DUB’s styling input made that range part of the fantasy, while Remix expanded the selection rather than replacing the original roster.
The series continued to feature real-world vehicle categories in Midnight Club: Los Angeles, which Rockstar describes as including tuners, muscle cars, exotics and superbikes. That broader franchise context should not be confused with the specific Midnight Club 3 lineup discussed here.
