The comparison source covers new battery-electric vehicles on sale in the United States, orders them by starting MSRP, and reports EPA miles. Its qualifying entries are:

Price is a starting point
The listed MSRP is useful for comparing the source’s ordering, but budget separately for destination charges, selected options, taxes and fees, and any dealer adjustment. Incentives may reduce a buyer’s cost, but eligibility and availability vary; the list does not establish a final purchase price.

Range is configuration-specific
Do not assume every version of a model has the range shown. The table identifies particular trims and, where stated, front- or rear-wheel drive. A different battery, wheel setup or drivetrain may carry a different EPA rating. Verify the exact model year and configuration before comparing vehicles or placing an order.
More than 300 miles is a threshold, not a promise
The lowest qualifying entry clears the cutoff by just 3 miles, while the longest-range entry shown is rated at 374 miles. EPA ratings provide a consistent comparison, but a listed value is not a guarantee of the distance a driver will cover on a particular trip. Driving conditions, speed, weather and use of cabin heating or air conditioning can affect real-world range.

What the 300-mile cutoff means
The cutoff is near the fleet average in recent EPA data, not an unusually high benchmark: the U.S. EPA’s February 2026 Automotive Trends Report says the average new battery-electric vehicle range for model year 2024 was 292 miles. That statistic describes the U.S. model-year average; it does not mean every driver needs a vehicle rated above 300 miles.
Check the exact vehicle before buying
- Confirm the model year and trim. Match the vehicle you are considering to the rating and drivetrain, rather than relying on a model name alone.
- Verify the EPA range. The ENERGY STAR electric-vehicle finder links to vehicle data provided by fueleconomy.gov, a joint EPA/DOE site, and offers a 300+-mile electric-range filter. The EPA fuel-economy page also directs shoppers to fueleconomy.gov to find and compare cars.
- Check current pricing and availability. Confirm the manufacturer’s current price, destination-charge treatment, dealer inventory and any incentives for your location. Prices and trim availability can change independently of an EPA range rating.
- Compare the ownership fit. Consider seating and cargo needs, drivetrain, efficiency and charging capability alongside range. The DOE’s model-year 2025 vehicle table includes charging and vehicle specifications for those older configurations, but it should not be used as confirmation of 2026 trim names, prices or ratings.
Plan for charging, not just range
A vehicle’s maximum rated range does not answer how conveniently it fits a daily routine or road trip. Check whether home charging is practical, including electrical capacity, installation requirements, connector compatibility and utility rates. For trips, review charging options along the route and the vehicle’s charging specifications; those details are configuration- and model-year-specific and are not established for all ten 2026 entries in the price comparison.
