The list also includes three much older cars, so “modern” does not fit every entry. Here are the ten selections, what makes each interesting, and what the evidence does—and does not—say about their prospects.
What this 10-car list represents
The closest match to this headline is Hagerty UK’s 2025 Bull Market selection, published by John Mayhead on 6 January 2025. It is a UK-oriented editorial and valuation selection of cars Hagerty analysts thought might gain value or attract enthusiasts; it is not a universal definition of a classic car, nor a record of cars that definitively achieved classic status in 2025.
Hagerty published a separate U.S. Bull Market list in December 2024 with 11 cars and a different roster. The U.S. list’s average model year was 2001, according to Hagerty; do not treat its cars or market context as interchangeable with the UK ten-car selection. Hagerty’s U.S. announcement described the list as a forecast drawing on sales data, historic trends, and insurance valuations. Brian Rabold, Hagerty’s vice president of Automotive Intelligence, said younger enthusiasts were entering the collector market and that cars from their eras were appreciating; that is Hagerty’s assessment, not an industry-wide rule. See the U.S. announcement.
The ten Hagerty UK selections
Hagerty’s article gives UK guide prices in pounds tied to condition categories and its January 2025 publication context. Those figures should not be mistaken for current asking prices or U.S. values. The individual cars and their appeal are:
#1 Best Overall
- V8 POWER: The model features a 400 cubic inch V8 engine, reflecting the muscle and power that defined the GTO's reputation.
- DETAILED SUSPENSION & EXHAUST: The kit incorporates separate rear suspension and exhaust detailing, adding to the realism of the model.
- BUCKET SEATS & CONSOLE: The model's interior features bucket seats and a floor shifter with a console, capturing the iconic look and feel of the GTO.
- OPTIONAL SUPERCHARGER: For those seeking more power, the kit offers an optional supercharger, allowing you to customize your model.
- CLEAR & COMPREHENSIVE INSTRUCTIONS: The included instructions are clear and user-friendly, making the kit accessible to modelers of different skill levels, from beginners to experienced hobbyists.
1. 2000–2001 Subaru Impreza P1
This UK-focused, Prodrive-developed special has rally associations and limited production. Hagerty emphasizes that condition and originality make a substantial difference between rough and exceptional examples. The model name alone is not enough to establish an individual car’s value.
2. 1977–1980 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II
Included for comfort and usability, the Silver Shadow II is not a modern car by ordinary usage. Hagerty described values for ordinary examples as relatively static, with stronger movement at the top end. It also flags rust risks around the sills, wheel arches, and windscreen seals.
Rank #2
- Versatile 3-in-1 Kit: Build your 1963 Chevy Corvette Sting Ray as factory stock, a street custom, or a drag gasser with this multi-option kit.
- Enhanced Features: Includes pre-lettered drag slicks, clear red taillights, and stock & custom wheels for an authentic and detailed build.
- Multiple Engine Options: Customize your model with various engine intake options, allowing for unique and personalized creations.
- Retro Styling: Comes with a full-color, retro-styled decal sheet and vintage “Street Rods Series” packaging, perfect for nostalgic collectors.
- High-Quality Collectible: AMT's improved reissue offers superior parts and detailing, making it a must-have for model enthusiasts and collectors.
3. 1994–1999 Ferrari F355
The F355’s 1990s styling and analogue driving character contribute to its collector appeal. Ownership costs remain an important counterweight, and Hagerty notes that some trim can be difficult to source.
4. 1965–1969 Porsche 912
Another established classic rather than a modern car, the 912 offers a route into early Porsche design. Hagerty said prices had retreated from a 2022 peak, a reminder that collector interest does not guarantee a steady rise.

- Revell Model Kit #14531, Skill Level 5, Contains 77-Parts, Recommended for ages 13 and up

- Detailed interior with separate side panels and a front bench seat
- Molded in white and clear with chrome plated parts and black vinyl tires
- Illustrated assembly instructions. Requires paint and glue. (not included)
5. 2002–2005 Alfa Romeo 147 GTA
The 147 GTA combines hatchback practicality with a 3.2-litre Busso V6. Hagerty identifies traction as a weakness of the standard setup and notes that a differential upgrade can address it.
6. 1994–2000 Toyota RAV4
As an early compact crossover with a recognizable design, the first-generation RAV4 has drawn enthusiast interest. Hagerty advises watching for corrosion and notes that clutch replacement can be a substantial job.
Rank #4

7. 1959–1968 Austin-Healey 3000
The Austin-Healey 3000 is a usable older classic, not a modern car. Hagerty characterized its long-term guide values as broadly flat and noted some evidence of increased millennial ownership.
8. 1992–1998 Maserati Ghibli
Distinctive styling, rarity, and high specific output underpin the Ghibli’s appeal. Parts and specialist servicing can be expensive, so a low purchase price may not reflect the cost of putting a neglected example right.
Best Value
9. 1991–1996 Peugeot 106 S1 Rallye
This homologation-oriented hot hatch has limited numbers and originality in its favor. Hagerty calls attention to corrosion and missing standard parts, both of which matter when judging a specific car.
10. 1994–2002 Range Rover P38A
The P38A offers period appeal as a comparatively affordable luxury off-roader. Hagerty’s selection makes condition, maintenance history, and modifications key considerations rather than treating every example as equally collectible.

Hagerty UK’s December 2025 market review provides a useful check on the forecast: nearly 80 percent of the values it tracked had fallen or remained static during the year. The company said its Hot Hatch and RADwood indices were exceptions, showing meaningful growth compared with December 2024. Those indices focus mainly on 1980s-and-newer performance hatchbacks and 1980s/1990s turbo-era cars; their direction should not be generalized to every car in the ten-model list or to the entire collector-car market. See Hagerty UK’s 2025 market analysis.
For a potential buyer, the strongest case is usually about the individual car, not just the model’s place on a forecast list. Evaluate originality, condition, service and maintenance records, corrosion, modifications, parts availability, and specialist support alongside the purchase price. The Impreza P1 and Peugeot Rallye discussions make originality and specification especially relevant; the Ghibli, RAV4, and Silver Shadow II examples illustrate how repair needs can alter the ownership equation.

Collectability and investment performance are separate questions. A car can have a dedicated following without reliably appreciating, and this list offers no guarantee of future prices. Hagerty’s selections are most useful as a dated snapshot of cars attracting attention in the UK market, not as a promise about the outcome for every example.
