For U.S. shoppers, the Toyota GR86 leads iSeeCars’ 2026 sports-car resale ranking, while the Toyota GR Supra won Kelley Blue Book’s 2026 Sports Car Best Resale Value Award. Porsche’s 718 Cayman and 911, plus the Chevrolet Corvette, also stand out in a separate iSeeCars depreciation study. These are recent results—not promises about what any specific car will be worth later.
The ten cars below form a cross-source shortlist, not a single uniform ranking. The figures come from different studies and methods, so compare each number only with its stated source and scope.

How to read sports-car resale figures
Value retention describes how much value a vehicle keeps over a stated period; depreciation describes how much it loses. Both depend on the vehicles and method being measured. iSeeCars’ sports-car ranking uses five-year depreciation analysis, its broader study examines recently sold five-year-old used cars, and Kelley Blue Book (KBB) publishes projected residual values. The resulting percentages are useful context, but they are not directly interchangeable.

A separate iSeeCars study analyzed more than 950,000 five-year-old used cars sold from March 2025 to February 2026. KBB’s award figures are projections for 2026 model-year vehicles, not observed sale prices from that same sample.

What the results say about each car
Toyota GR86
The GR86 is the clearest leader in the 2026 iSeeCars sports-car ranking: its reported five-year retention is 88.5%, against 71.9% for the segment average. That comparison belongs to iSeeCars’ analysis and should not be read as a guaranteed resale value for a new GR86.

Porsche 718 Cayman and Porsche 911
Both Porsche coupes appear in iSeeCars’ separate lowest-depreciation results. The 718 Cayman’s reported five-year depreciation is 9.6%, and the 911’s is 11.1%. For the 911 in particular, do not assume one universal figure: iSeeCars’ model page reports 5.3% five-year depreciation and a $128,274 resale value, while its luxury sports-car ranking says a 911 coupe retains 94.7% and gives a $169,660 average price for five-year-old models. The configurations, categories, and methods are not safely interchangeable.

Chevrolet Corvette
The Corvette appears in both the iSeeCars used-car depreciation study and KBB’s 2026 overall Best Resale Value top ten. iSeeCars reports 18.7% five-year depreciation in its used-car sample; KBB projects 54.0% five-year resale value for the 2026 model year. One is a result from used-car sales and the other a forecast, so neither should be substituted for the other.

Toyota GR Supra
KBB named the GR Supra its 2026 Sports Car Best Resale Value Award winner and lists projected five-year resale value at 56.0% for the 2026 model year. KBB says an average 2026 model-year vehicle is expected to retain about 45% of its original value after five years; that broad comparison does not guarantee a particular Supra’s outcome.
Camaro coupe, Mustang coupe, BRZ, Nissan Z, and MX-5 Miata
iSeeCars includes the Camaro coupe, Mustang coupe, BRZ, Nissan Z, and MX-5 Miata in its 2026 sports-car list. The separate iSeeCars depreciation study also reports 23.7% five-year depreciation for the BRZ. The supplied results do not establish a comparable model-specific percentage for the other four in that ranking, so their inclusion here is based on their presence in the list rather than a fabricated figure.

What can change a car’s resale value
A published model-level result is a benchmark, not an individual appraisal. A particular car’s market value can differ with model year, body style, mileage, condition, location, and the calculation used. Coupe and convertible configurations, for example, should not be treated as identical without evidence that a source measured them together.
Quick Recap
- Check whether a percentage is retention or depreciation; they describe opposite sides of the value change.
- Keep the source, study year, sample, and model configuration beside the figure.
- Distinguish observed used-car results from projected resale values.
- Compare vehicles over the same time horizon and with the same measure before drawing a winner.
