There is no single objective winner among hybrid supercars: the category ranges from track-focused Formula 1-derived engineering to V12 flagships and limited-production hybrids that helped establish the format. This curated selection compares powertrain approach, documented output and electric operation, road-versus-track intent, rarity, and historical significance—not horsepower alone. It brings together current contenders and landmark models; specifications below are manufacturer figures where available, not results from a standardized independent test.
What makes a hybrid supercar “best”?
Hybrid systems serve different purposes in these cars. Some prioritize track performance, some use electric motors to complement a high-revving or large-displacement engine, and some make electrification part of a versatile road-car powertrain. The right comparison is therefore about what each system contributes, alongside the car’s engineering significance and intended character.
For current models, Car and Driver’s 2026 hybrid-sports-car coverage identifies several contenders, but it is an editorial ranking rather than an official manufacturer list or a universal verdict. Technical figures in this article are credited to manufacturers where available. Units are retained as published: horsepower (hp) and metric horsepower (PS) are not silently treated as interchangeable.
10 hybrid supercars worth knowing
1. Mercedes-AMG ONE: Formula 1-derived, track-focused hybrid engineering
The AMG ONE is the shortlist’s clearest expression of track technology: Mercedes-AMG describes a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol V6 working with four electric motors, for a stated system output of 1,063 hp. Its battery is designed around power delivery and track performance rather than ordinary electric-car range. That makes the ONE compelling not simply for its output, but for the unusual priority of its hybrid system.

2. Lamborghini Revuelto: a V12 flagship with electric assistance
Lamborghini calls the Revuelto its first HPEV hybrid supersportscar. The manufacturer lists combined output of 1,015 PS, a top speed above 350 km/h, and 0–100 km/h acceleration in 2.5 seconds. Its appeal lies in retaining a V12 at the center of the experience while using electrification as part of the car’s performance formula, rather than replacing that combustion-engine identity.
3. McLaren Artura: a lower-output, high-performance hybrid alternative
The Artura shows why this category is not just a contest for the biggest number. McLaren describes it as a high-performance hybrid supercar and lists 690 hp, 531 lb-ft of torque, and a 205 mph top speed. Those manufacturer figures make it a useful counterpoint to the 1,000-plus-output flagships: its place in the conversation comes from a distinct hybrid-supercar proposition, not from matching their headline figures.

4. Ferrari 296 GTB and 296 GTS: Ferrari’s hybrid V6 direction
The 296 GTB and open-top 296 GTS represent a hybrid V6 route within Ferrari’s sports-car range. Car and Driver includes the pair in its 2026 hybrid-sports-car coverage. They offer a useful contrast with V12-led hybrid flagships such as the Revuelto: here, the defining comparison is the engine architecture and how Ferrari builds a hybrid sports car around a V6. No current Ferrari technical specification is established in the cited material, so no output or electric-range figure is asserted.
5. Lamborghini Temerario: a newer-generation contender
Car and Driver’s 2026 coverage describes the Temerario as pairing an all-new hybrid powertrain with a fresh interpretation of Lamborghini styling. It belongs on a current-generation shortlist as a sign of where the marque is taking its hybrid performance cars. Final specifications and delivery availability can vary by market; confirm them with Lamborghini for the relevant region before treating an announced model detail as an available local configuration.

6. Ferrari F80: a specialized hybrid performance flagship
Car and Driver characterizes the F80 as a new Ferrari performance flagship with a hybrid powertrain. That puts it among the most specialized entries here, but an announced or listed flagship should not be confused with a car broadly available to ordinary buyers. The cited coverage does not establish a region-specific supply picture or a full technical specification for this article, so no availability, output, or price claim is made.
7. Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X: an American hybrid performance contender
Car and Driver’s 2026 hybrid-sports-car coverage includes the Corvette ZR1/ZR1X family and describes output reaching up to 1,250 horsepower. That figure is a family-level statement in the cited coverage; it is not presented here as a verified ZR1X-specific system-output figure. The entry broadens the shortlist beyond European marques, while the exact configuration and specification should be checked against Chevrolet’s current documentation for the car in question.

8. Porsche 911 Turbo S: electrification in a familiar sports-car format
The hybrid 911 Turbo S represents the adoption of electrification within a long-established sports-car architecture. Car and Driver includes the 2026 Turbo S in its hybrid coverage and notes that hybrid powertrain choices have entered the 911 range. The cited material does not provide enough technical detail to describe the Turbo S’s motor placement, battery, or output reliably, so those specifics are left open rather than inferred.
9. Porsche 918 Spyder: the limited-production historical benchmark
The 918 Spyder remains a landmark because its hybrid system was central to the car’s performance, not an afterthought. Porsche’s 2024 retrospective describes a 4.6-litre V8 paired with two electric motors, with system output of 652 kW (887 PS), five driving modes, and production limited to 918 units. Porsche also records a 6:57 Nürburgring Nordschleife lap and explicitly credits the hybrid drive. That lap belongs to the car’s historical record; it is not a claim that the 918 is today’s fastest road car around the circuit.

10. Ferrari SF90 Stradale: an early modern plug-in-hybrid Ferrari
The SF90 Stradale adds an early modern plug-in-hybrid Ferrari to the selection, alongside the V6 hybrid 296. The available secondary company-data source identifies it as a plug-in V8 hybrid and calls it Ferrari’s first hybrid car, but that material is not a current Ferrari technical source. The characterization is useful as context, not as a substitute for Ferrari’s own confirmation; no output or other specification is quoted here.

How to read the performance figures
The published outputs above come from different manufacturers and sources, and are not a standardized independent comparison. The Mercedes-AMG figure is 1,063 hp; Lamborghini states 1,015 PS for the Revuelto; McLaren lists 690 hp for the Artura; and Porsche’s retrospective gives the 918 Spyder as 652 kW (887 PS). Keep the units attached to each figure and do not read small differences as a controlled head-to-head result.
Electric operation also cannot be compared evenly from the available specifications. Mercedes-AMG’s technical description explains the ONE’s battery priority, but does not make that a claim about conventional EV range. This article therefore does not assign unverified electric ranges or infer how other cars’ motors are positioned or configured.
