Yamaha Super Ténéré No Longer Offered in the U.S. for 2025

Yes—Yamaha withdrew the Super Ténéré ES from the U.S. market for the 2025 model year. Yamaha’s 2024 U.S. announcement says the “Super Ténéré ES Adventure Touring model will no longer be offered in the U.S. market for 2025.” That is a U.S. model-year decision, not proof that sales ended in every country, and it does not announce an immediate end to parts or service.

What Yamaha actually announced

Yamaha’s wording is specific: the Super Ténéré ES would no longer be offered in the United States for model year 2025. The same announcement also named the FJR1300ES Sport Touring model. Yamaha did not state a reason for either decision.

  • The announcement was issued by Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., in 2024.
  • The withdrawal applies to the U.S. 2025 model year.
  • It does not establish that every international market stopped selling the motorcycle.
  • It does not say that parts, accessories, warranty work, or service ended immediately.

Claims about declining sales, emissions regulations, tariffs, or a successor are speculation unless Yamaha or another dated primary source confirms them.

Why the Super Ténéré is absent from Yamaha’s U.S. lineup

Yamaha’s current U.S. road lineup, shown in 2026, lists the Ténéré 700 and Ténéré 700 World Raid among its adventure-touring offerings. The Super Ténéré does not appear on that lineup. The same page lists other road-tourers, including the Tracer 9.

The lineup shows a Ténéré 700 MSRP of $10,999 and a Ténéré 700 World Raid MSRP of $12,999. Those are displayed MSRPs, not guaranteed transaction prices; Yamaha says prices and specifications can change without notice.

Does the Ténéré 700 replace the Super Ténéré?

Not officially. Yamaha’s U.S. pages show the Ténéré 700 family as the current adventure-touring focus, but Yamaha has not described either model as a direct Super Ténéré replacement in the announcement cited here. Buyers should treat them as different motorcycles and compare the attributes that matter for their use rather than assuming an equivalent successor.

Questions to ask when comparing bikes

  • Engine and highway load: Determine whether the smaller bike’s engine character and sustained-speed performance suit your passenger, luggage, and interstate plans.
  • Wet weight: Confirm each motorcycle’s ready-to-ride weight. This affects low-speed control, loading, and recovery on loose surfaces.
  • Fuel range: Compare tank capacity, real riding range, and the spacing of fuel stops on your routes.
  • Suspension travel: Match travel and ground clearance to the terrain you actually ride.
  • Electronic rider aids: Check the exact model year for traction-control, ride-mode, ABS, and other electronic equipment rather than assuming the systems are identical.
  • Ergonomics: Sit on both motorcycles with the intended riding gear. Seat height, bar reach, wind protection, and passenger accommodations can outweigh catalog differences.
  • Luggage: Verify whether existing cases, racks, top cases, and mounting hardware transfer. Compatibility is not automatic across Ténéré models.
  • Support and warranty: A leftover Super Ténéré may have different remaining warranty coverage and dealer familiarity than a new current-model Ténéré 700.
  • Actual price: Compare the dealer’s written, out-the-door quote for a leftover Super Ténéré with the current model’s negotiated price, including freight, setup, registration, and accessories.

Can owners still get Super Ténéré luggage and accessories?

Yamaha’s official online shop continues to list Super Ténéré-related luggage in 2026. The catalog lists “Super Ténéré Side Cases” at $519.99 and a “Ténéré 700/Super Ténéré Top Case” at $449.99.

Those listings demonstrate that the accessories remain in Yamaha’s catalog; they do not guarantee inventory at every dealer or a particular delivery date. Before ordering, confirm the motorcycle’s model year, fitment, mounting hardware, color or finish, and current stock with Yamaha or an authorized dealer. Availability can change even while a product page remains visible.

Clean the surface where the adhesive will be applied with a soft, dry and clean cloth that does not release residue. In case of stubborn dirt, it is possible to use a common spray for cleaning glass or a liquid degreaser. Finally, dry the surface thoroughly and proceed with the application of the adhesive
  • [EASY TO APPLY]: Handle the sticker exclusively from the edges avoiding touching the adhesive part with your hands, apply the adhesive keeping it perfectly aligned to the shape of the bike to avoid sticking and detaching actions that could compromise the tightness of the glue over time. We recommend starting on one side and gently eliminate any air bubble as you proceed to the opposite side

What the withdrawal means for current owners

Parts and service

The 2025 sales decision alone does not announce an immediate stop to parts or service. Owners should continue using Yamaha’s dealer network for scheduled maintenance, diagnostic work, recalls, and parts inquiries. Ask the dealer to verify availability and lead time for model-specific items before disassembling the motorcycle for a trip or major repair.

Warranty and documentation

Warranty coverage depends on the motorcycle’s purchase date, model year, and warranty terms. Keep the purchase documents, maintenance records, and vehicle identification number available when contacting a dealer. A discontinued model is not automatically an unwarranted model.

Luggage and touring preparation

For long-distance travel, confirm case locks, mounting points, seals, replacement keys, and load limits before departure. Yamaha’s continued catalog listings are useful evidence that some official luggage remains offered, but owners should not treat them as a promise of universal stock.

Should you buy a leftover Super Ténéré?

A leftover motorcycle can make sense when its price, condition, warranty, and support fit your plans. The model’s U.S. withdrawal is a reason to investigate carefully, not by itself a reason to reject every unsold example.

A leftover Super Ténéré may suit you when

  • You want its particular size, highway-oriented character, or established touring setup.
  • The dealer provides a clear out-the-door price and confirms the remaining warranty.
  • You can verify service access and obtain the luggage or parts you need.
  • The motorcycle’s weight, ergonomics, electronics, and range match your routes better than the current alternatives.

A current Ténéré 700 may suit you when

  • You prefer a motorcycle from Yamaha’s active U.S. lineup.
  • You value current-model availability and a straightforward new-bike warranty process.
  • Your riding emphasizes lighter-duty adventure travel or off-road use, subject to the exact specifications and your own evaluation.
  • The dealer’s price and financing make the newer model a better overall purchase than an aging leftover.

There is no evidence here for a universal winner. Make the decision with a test ride, a written quote, a warranty check, and a parts-and-luggage availability check.

What shoppers should verify before signing

  1. Confirm the motorcycle’s exact model year and whether it is new, titled, or previously registered.
  2. Get the complete out-the-door price, including freight, setup, documentation, taxes, registration, and any accessories.
  3. Read the warranty terms and ask how remaining coverage is handled for a leftover unit.
  4. Ask the servicing dealer about routine parts, crash components, luggage hardware, and expected order times.
  5. Check recalls and service history using the vehicle identification number.
  6. Compare the motorcycle’s actual equipment and fit with the Ténéré 700 or World Raid you are considering.
  7. Confirm that the cases and racks you want fit that exact model and year.

The practical bottom line for U.S. riders

Yamaha has stopped offering the Super Ténéré ES in the United States for the 2025 model year, and it is absent from the company’s 2026 U.S. road lineup. Yamaha has not published a reason or named an official replacement. The Ténéré 700 and Ténéré 700 World Raid are the current adventure-touring choices shown by Yamaha, while official-shop listings indicate that at least some Super Ténéré luggage remains cataloged. For buyers, the sensible next step is a model-by-model check of price, warranty, support, fit, and intended use—not an assumption that the newer Ténéré 700 is identical.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
