The car spotted in Barcelona before Xiaomi’s major reveal was the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, a futuristic supercar concept built for the Gran Turismo simulation racing platform. It is not an announced production car. Xiaomi later showed a full-scale concept model at MWC Barcelona in March 2026.
What was spotted in Barcelona
Gizmochina reported on February 28, 2026 that a Xiaomi-branded vehicle had been seen in Barcelona ahead of MWC. The car was covered, and the report described some visible styling cues. That is secondhand reporting of what was visible at the time. It does not establish engineering specifications, dimensions, or powertrain details, and no official source in the reviewed material confirms those.

Xiaomi later identified the vehicle as the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo. The sighting report and the official reveal are the same vehicle, but the official material is the only authority for what the car is.

The sighting and the launch event were close in time, so the report reads as a preview of news that had not yet been published. By the time the concept was shown publicly, the vehicle had already been unveiled.

What the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo is
A concept, not a production car
Xiaomi’s official material presents the Vision Gran Turismo as a concept. Nothing in the reviewed sources says Xiaomi plans to sell it, announces pricing, or lists production specifications. Treat any claim about a road-going version as unsupported unless Xiaomi publishes one.

Xiaomi’s annual report describes the car as a futuristic supercar concept designed exclusively for the Gran Turismo simulation racing platform. That is the main reason it exists as a digital and display project rather than a vehicle for public roads.

Where it sits in the Vision Gran Turismo project
The same filing describes Xiaomi as the 36th brand in the Vision Gran Turismo project and the Xiaomi concept as the 51st vehicle in that project. It also says Xiaomi was the first Chinese brand and the first technology company invited to take part. These are project-order and participation claims made by the company. They are not performance figures, and they do not describe how fast or how powerful the car is.
Statements from named people
The reviewed sources contain no verified direct quote from a named Xiaomi executive or designer about this car. Statements about the reveal chronology and the game plans are Xiaomi’s own company statements, and they should be attributed to Xiaomi rather than to any individual.

Can you drive it in Gran Turismo 7?
Not on the basis of the official material reviewed. Xiaomi’s reveal article says details about the concept’s arrival in Gran Turismo 7 will be shared in future announcements. It does not say the car is playable today. Because the reviewed sources date from February and March 2026, check Xiaomi’s newer announcements and Gran Turismo’s official channels for any update on game availability before assuming the car is in the game.
How to read the sighting in context
- Sighting report: useful for timing and for the fact that a covered vehicle was seen in Barcelona. Not a source for specifications.
- Xiaomi’s official article: the authority for the reveal chronology and for the statement that game details are still to come.
- Xiaomi’s annual report filing: the authority for the brand and project-order claims, and for the concept’s designation for the Gran Turismo platform.
Comparisons and what cannot be compared
The reviewed sources establish no production-car alternative to this concept, so a head-to-head comparison with a road car would not be supported. If you compare the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo with other Vision Gran Turismo entries, the useful axes are concept or production status, whether game availability has been announced, and whether the vehicle exists as a physical full-scale model or as a digital car. Performance figures should not be compared unless the manufacturer publishes them for each specific vehicle.

Xiaomi, Gran Turismo, and Polyphony Digital are the parties whose announcements would confirm future game or product plans. Anything beyond the concept itself should be checked against their official channels before it is repeated.
