The “seven-month” Xiaomi SU7 wait refers to a launch-period estimate for the first-generation Max in mainland China—not a current delivery promise for every trim. Xiaomi Auto app estimates changed sharply by trim and date: the Max was reported at 25–28 weeks in March 2024, the Pro reached 47–50 weeks in June 2025, and estimates later fell for some versions. The latest dated figures available here are from May 2026, so buyers placing an order on 8 October 2026 should check the Xiaomi Auto app for their specific configuration and order.
What did the “seven-month” Xiaomi SU7 wait mean?
On 31 March 2024, CnEVPost reported Xiaomi EV app estimates of 13–16 weeks for the first-generation SU7 Standard, 16–19 weeks for the Pro and 25–28 weeks for the Max. The Max estimate—roughly six to seven months—was the source of the launch-era “almost seven months” description. These were mainland China app estimates, not guaranteed delivery dates. The wait did not apply equally to all trims, and it did not remain fixed. Later reports showed a longer estimate for the Pro than the original Max figure, followed by a sharp decline for Pro and Max in late 2025. A single unqualified “SU7 delivery time” therefore hides the relevant details: date, trim, generation and whether the car is near-ready or built to a buyer’s configuration.

The figures below are dated snapshots of Xiaomi Auto app estimates reported by the cited outlets. They concern mainland China; they are not a live estimate for an order placed today.

Why did the waits get so long—and then fall?
Launch demand met limited capacity
At the March 2024 sales opening, Xiaomi said it received 50,000 orders in the first 27 minutes, according to the Associated Press. CnEVPost later reported 88,898 “firm orders” in the first 24 hours and noted that Xiaomi included orders with refundable deposits in that count. These differently defined figures show strong launch interest, but should not be treated as equivalent measures of locked-in orders or of the number of customers still waiting. CarNewsChina attributed the June 2025 estimates—including 47–50 weeks for the Pro—to strong demand and limited production capacity. In November 2025, CnEVPost reported that the much shorter Pro and Max estimates could reflect higher factory capacity, lower order volume, or both; the report did not establish a single cause. How the new-generation SU7 differs
The new-generation SU7 launched in March 2026. Xiaomi’s 2025 results announcement lists China-market prices of RMB 219,900 for Standard, RMB 249,900 for Pro and RMB 303,900 for Max. It gives a maximum CLTC range of 902 km for the Pro; that is a manufacturer-reported test-cycle figure, not a real-world range guarantee. Xiaomi Corporation’s 2025 results announcement.

On 20 March 2026, Xiaomi Auto told users through a Q&A published by Beijing Daily that near-ready cars were expected to be delivered 1–5 weeks after order lock. The company also described priority production scheduling and advised customers to check order progress in the Xiaomi Auto app. This was dated guidance for near-ready vehicles, not a standing estimate for every customized order. - For an order already placed: use the app’s order-progress information, as Xiaomi advised in its March 2026 user Q&A. The estimate for a near-ready vehicle may differ from the schedule for a customized car.
- Read the estimate as a range, not a promise: delivery-center and configuration differences may matter, and app estimates can change as circumstances change.
The available dated figures cover mainland China. They do not establish delivery waits for buyers in overseas markets.
