Check the EPA range displayed for the exact Long Range configuration you are considering, then compare it with the Performance’s 309-mile listing. The difference between those two figures is the range trade-off for that particular comparison. Do not assume the same difference applies to other wheel or drivetrain choices.

It is worth considering if rapid acceleration is a meaningful part of how you want to drive and you also value the Performance’s factory braking and chassis equipment. The 2.9-second figure is Tesla’s quoted 0–60 mph time, not a promise that every driver, road or condition will reproduce it.

There is no fixed premium to cite: Tesla says prices are subject to change, and its configurations and markets differ. Compare the current out-the-door prices for the exact two cars available to you. Which Model 3 is better for daily driving?
Choose Performance if you will use its hardware
