In April 2022, Kissflow CEO Suresh Sambandam presented five senior executives with BMW cars, describing them as a “very small token of appreciation” for people who had helped build the Chennai-headquartered software company. News reports valued each car at about ₹1 crore at the time; that is a reported 2022 gift value, not a current price.
Why did the Kissflow CEO give the cars?
The presentation was linked to Kissflow’s tenth anniversary and recognition of the executives’ loyalty and contributions. Sambandam said: “These are the five people who stayed with me in the trenches. Without them Kissflow would not be where it is today, and this is a very small token of appreciation. I feel happy to see them enjoy it with their families”.
Who received a BMW?
- Dinesh Varadharajan, chief product officer
- Kausikram Krishnasayee, director of product management
- Vivek Madurai, director
- Adhi Ramanathan, director
- Prasanna Rajendran, vice-president
Which BMW models were reported?
Hindustan Times and Onmanorama described the cars as BMW 530d models from the 5 Series; Onmanorama specified the 5 Series M Sport edition. Economic Times instead called them 6 Series cars, so the precise model description is not consistent across reports.
Onmanorama quoted Sambandam describing the choice: “We didn’t give just any BMW. We gave the 5 Series and that too the 530d M Sport edition, which is one the high-end models that give the best self-driving experience among all BMWs.” The characterization of the driving experience is Sambandam’s opinion, not an independently established comparison.
