Jaguar’s Type 00 looks like an old-school villain car because it combines a long, imposing hood, a low fastback roof, enormous wheels and stark, concealed lighting into one deliberately theatrical shape. That comparison is an interpretation, not Jaguar’s own label: the company calls the design “Exuberant Modernism” and describes it as “Bold. Unexpected. Fearless.”
What gives Type 00 its villain-car look?
The impression comes from the whole silhouette, not one gimmick. Jaguar’s concept has a long hood, a sweeping roofline that drops into a fastback tail, broad modernist surfaces and 23-inch alloy wheels. Together, those features make the car look less like a conventional sedan and more like a deliberate, cinematic presence.
A long hood and low, sweeping roof
The long bonnet gives the front visual weight, while the roofline stretches back toward a boat-tail rear. This proportion recalls grand touring cars, but Type 00 exaggerates it into a dramatic, almost monolithic profile.
Flush surfaces and emphatic details
At the front, upright flush surfaces frame a central Jaguar device mark. Light signatures emphasize the corners rather than relying on a familiar grille shape. Along the sides, brass-colored ingots carry the leaper motif and deploy to reveal rear-facing cameras.

- This high quality range includes various special categories and themes that appeal to children and collectors alike. Children aged 3 and up and collectors will love the realistic details and fantastic features of both new and classic vehicles for playing or displaying. New Hot Wheels models and castings provide more collectable fun. Car lovers will find an excellent selection of vehicles known all over the world to expand their collections.
The rear continues the graphic treatment: horizontal “Strikethrough” elements conceal full-width taillights, and the concept has a glassless tailgate with roof glazing harmonized to the body. The result is unusually clean in some places and intentionally forceful in others.
Color that reinforces the mood
Jaguar showed Type 00 in Satin Rhodon Rose, nicknamed “Miami Pink,” and Inception Silver Blue, or “London Blue.” The company linked Miami Pink to the Art Deco setting and the rose hue of aging brass; London Blue refers to British heritage and the 1960s Opalescent Silver Blue associated with the E-type.

Is Type 00 a production electric car?
No. Jaguar explicitly identifies Type 00 as a “non-production vehicle.” It is a design concept and a preview of a future design direction, not a model customers can buy.
Jaguar’s December 2024 launch announcement described a separate first reimagined production car: a four-door electric GT to be built in the UK. At the reveal, the company projected up to 430 miles (692 km) of EPA range and up to 200 miles (321 km) of range added in 15 minutes of rapid charging, subject to final testing on that future production model. Those were historical manufacturer projections, not confirmed Type 00 figures or final production specifications.

What Jaguar says the design is meant to express
Jaguar calls Type 00 the first physical expression of its “Exuberant Modernism” philosophy. In the name, “Type” connects the concept to the brand’s model heritage, including the E-type; the first zero refers to zero tailpipe emissions, and the second marks its role as “car zero” in a new lineage.
The company’s statements explain its intent, not a guaranteed audience response. Chief Exterior Designer Constantino Segui Gilabert said, “Jaguar is no place for ordinary. When you see a new Jaguar for the first time, it must have a sense of awe, of never having been seen before.” Jaguar’s design page sums up the ambition as “Bold. Unexpected. Fearless.”

Why the reaction is not universal
Type 00’s scale and novelty are central to its appeal, but they also make it divisive. Wallpaper* characterized reaction to the concept as far from universal. There is no established, named statistic here that measures public opinion, so the villain-car description is best understood as a vivid visual reading—not a consensus or an official nickname.
That split makes sense: the concept favors visual distinctiveness over restraint and concept-car drama over the practical compromises of a production car. Its long bonnet and low roofline draw on recognizable Jaguar cues, while its flush surfaces and concealed lighting push toward a new brand language. Whether that balance feels bold or overbearing is a matter of taste.
How Type 00 relates to Jaguar’s developing electric GT
Type 00 itself is not the developing GT, and details announced for the GT should not be treated as Type 00 specifications. In a March 31, 2026 announcement, Jaguar said engineers had used historic models—including the XK120, E-type, XJ Coupé V12, XJS and XJ Series I—to inform the four-door GT. The company cited a long bonnet and low roofline as links to earlier Jaguars, and said the car was being developed to combine performance with comfort.
That announcement also described tri-motor technology, more than 1,000 PS and over 1,300 Nm of torque as manufacturer statements about the developing GT. Jaguar said, “All will be revealed in September this year.” That was a planned reveal, not confirmation that it occurred. Wallpaper* later referred to the production car as Type 01, but that independent reporting does not establish a current official schedule or final specification.
The short answer
Type 00 reads as an old-school villain car because its long hood, low fastback shape, wide surfaces, outsized wheels and concealed lighting make it unusually imposing. The comparison captures its theatrical effect, but Jaguar presents it as “Exuberant Modernism.” It remains a non-production concept, distinct from the four-door electric GT Jaguar has described as its first reimagined production car.
