Harley-Davidson, Inc. is the publicly traded parent company, listed on the New York Stock Exchange as HOG. It owns Harley-Davidson Motor Company, the motorcycle business. Harley-Davidson motorcycles are made across a global manufacturing network, with facilities in the United States, Thailand and Brazil; which plant is relevant depends on the facility’s role, the motorcycle and its destination market.
Who owns Harley-Davidson?
Harley-Davidson is not owned by one outside automaker or a single private owner. Harley-Davidson, Inc. is a public company whose shares are held by investors, and Harley-Davidson Motor Company is its motorcycle subsidiary. The parent’s shares trade on the NYSE under ticker symbol HOG. Harley-Davidson’s investor overview identifies the public company and its business.
In its 2025 Form 10-K, Harley-Davidson reported 111,850,563 common shares outstanding and 58,612 shareholders of record as of January 30, 2026. These are dated figures from the filing, not a real-time count of shareholders or a list of every beneficial owner. The 2025 Form 10-K is the source for both counts.
Where are Harley-Davidson motorcycles made?
The company’s 2025 Form 10-K lists operations in the United States, Thailand and Brazil. Not every site makes complete motorcycles: the facilities perform different manufacturing and assembly tasks, and production is not necessarily shared across all models or markets.

| Location | Reported facility role |
|---|---|
| Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin | Produces motorcycle powertrains |
| Tomahawk, Wisconsin | Makes and paints components |
| York, Pennsylvania | Fabricates parts, paints and assembles motorcycles |
| Rayong, Thailand | Produces motorcycles for selected markets and models |
| Manaus, Brazil | Assembles motorcycles for the Brazilian market |
These facility roles come from Harley-Davidson’s 2025 Form 10-K. The list does not mean that every Harley-Davidson is built in the United States, or that every model is made in each country. It also does not identify the plant that built a particular motorcycle.
What changed for Revolution Max motorcycles?
On June 9, 2026, Harley-Davidson announced plans to return North American production of Revolution Max motorcycles to facilities in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The company named the Pan America, Sportster S and Nightster, and said the transition was expected to finish before production begins in 2027, ahead of Model Year 2028 production. This describes an announced future transition, not a change already completed. The company’s June 9, 2026 announcement also forecast that York would manufacture more than 100,000 motorcycles in 2027; that is a forecast, not a completed production result.

The announcement is limited to the named models and North American production. It does not establish the origin of every Revolution Max motorcycle sold in every market, or the origin of all Harley-Davidson models and model years.

A company-wide factory list can explain the brand’s manufacturing footprint, but it cannot establish the assembly plant for an individual bike. Origin can depend on the model, model year and destination market. To check a particular motorcycle, use vehicle-specific records and confirm that they correspond to its VIN and model year.

- Identify the motorcycle’s model year and model.
- Confirm the market for which it was intended; a facility’s role may be market-specific.
- Check the vehicle’s VIN-related documentation or ask an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer to verify the individual motorcycle’s records.
Do not infer an individual bike’s origin from a forum post, a broad list of company facilities or a production plan for a different model year.
