It covers a passenger e-trike configurable for seven people, a solar-assisted seated scooter, new e-bikes from Gazelle and Ride1Up, an electric motorcycle enforcement incident in Florida, and a LiveWire motorcycle’s evaluation for rider training. What the “7-seater e-bike” actually is
It is a three-wheel passenger e-trike, not a conventional two-wheel e-bike with seven seats. Electrek reports that SixThreeZero’s Long Range Luxury Rickshaw seats the rider and two rear passengers in its standard configuration. Optional rear sub-frames can add passenger seating or cargo capacity; the reported setup connects as many as two sub-frames to carry up to seven people total. That is a configured arrangement, not the base seating capacity. Electrek’s report on the Long Range Luxury Rickshaw lists a launch-period starting price of $7,495 and $999 per optional sub-frame.

The report describes two 750 W motors, selectable single- or dual-motor operation, and 1,500 W combined nominal output. It lists a 20 mph top speed under pedal assist or throttle. Reported equipment includes hydraulic brakes on all three wheels, a torque sensor, fat tires, front suspension, lights, turn signals, mirrors, a rear differential, and a front basket. The listed battery configuration—two 48 V, 20 Ah frame batteries and a 48 V, 112 Ah battery under the rear seat—adds up to 7,296 Wh.

SixThreeZero’s reported range claim is up to 120 miles (193 km), but the article notes that speed, terrain, assist level, and passenger load affect range. The size and weight also make this a very different proposition from a typical bicycle: a reader comment cited by Electrek gives dimensions of 8 ft 5 in long, 3 ft wide, and 3 ft 8 in high when folded, plus a 243 lb weight with two batteries. Those figures are from a reader comment, not a confirmed manufacturer specification in the report. Check the current configuration, dimensions, legal classification, and availability before treating launch coverage as a buying specification.

Which e-bikes from Gazelle and Ride1Up were covered?
Gazelle Ultimate T10, C5, and C380
Electrek’s October 1, 2026, launch report lists three redesigned Gazelle Ultimate models, all described as Class 1 pedal-assist e-bikes with a 540 Wh Bosch battery. An 800 Wh battery and PowerMore 250 range extender were reported as options. The models share Bosch Smart System integration and phone mounting, but use different drivetrains. Prices below are the reported US launch prices, not current quotes. Electrek’s Gazelle Ultimate report said they were available through Gazelle dealers in the US and Canada when published.

Ride1Up Prodigy V2 Eco
Ride1Up’s Prodigy V2 Eco was covered as a pre-order launch. Electrek reported a $1,295 pre-order price on October 2, 2026, with shipping expected to begin in the following weeks at that time; neither statement guarantees current pricing or delivery. The article said it had not yet tested this model, so the specifications below are reported details rather than independent test results. Electrek’s Prodigy V2 Eco report lists a German-made Brose TF Sprinter mid-drive rated at 90 Nm, a 504 Wh Samsung-cell battery (36 V, 14 Ah), and Class 3 performance up to 28 mph (45 km/h).

How the Lightfoot solar scooter works
Lightfoot is a two-seat electric scooter from San Francisco R&D company Otherlab, with two solar panels integrated into its sides. Electrek reports a combined panel output of 240 W. Otherlab’s reported estimate is that the panels can add 3–4 miles (5–6 km) of range per hour in good sunlight, up to 18 miles (29 km) in a day. These are favorable-condition claims, not a guarantee of solar-only operation.

The scooter also has a 52 V, 1,560 Wh battery rated for up to 37 miles (60 km), plus a conventional 230 W onboard charger. Electrek reported an approximately four-hour wall charge. Solar is therefore supplemental: the vehicle can be charged conventionally, and cloudy weather, shade, and travel conditions affect what its panels contribute. Electrek’s Lightfoot report described the first Launch Edition batch as 100 units at $4,495 including delivery, with a refundable $100 reservation at the time. Reported features include dual 750 W nominal geared hub motors, each rated at 1,000 W peak, a claimed 160 Nm combined torque, a top speed under 20 mph, a 45-liter lockable weatherproof cargo compartment, passenger seating, full suspension, hydraulic brakes, and regenerative braking. Otherlab’s claim that the scooter does not require licensing or registration should not be assumed to apply everywhere: rules vary by state and municipality, so check local requirements before riding.

Why the Florida incident is not an e-bike rule for every vehicle
Electrek reports that Oviedo police in Florida encountered an 11-year-old riding a Sur Ron-style, pedal-less electric motorcycle and described the vehicle as 4,500 W. The report says police treated it as an unregistered motor vehicle. It summarizes Florida’s e-bike rules as requiring operable pedals and a motor rated at no more than 750 W, with speed limits tied to e-bike class. The reported incident concerns a high-powered pedal-less electric motorcycle; it does not establish that every electric two-wheeler is legally a motorcycle, or that the same rules apply outside Florida. Electrek’s report on the Florida incident is secondary reporting, not a substitute for checking current statutes or official local guidance.
What the LiveWire S4 Honcho training story means
According to Electrek, the LiveWire S4 Honcho Street met Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) criteria for rider-training programs and was set to join an MSF RiderCoach Tour demonstration fleet. That describes a demonstration and evaluation opportunity for coaches and training providers, not broad adoption by MSF courses. The report quotes LiveWire Head of Commercial Jon Bekefy: “The next generation of riders is coming up on e-bikes and electric vehicles, so their expectations for mobility are changing. For many, an electric motorcycle is a more natural first step into motorcycling.” Electrek’s October 5 report identifies Corey Eastman as MSF Director of Rider Education Expansion.

Its range figures are up to 53 miles under WMTC or up to 73 miles at 20 mph; those figures use different conditions and should not be treated as directly equivalent.
