2027 Tremor: XL access and an 8-foot-bed Crew Cab
XL with STX Appearance
For the first time in this update, buyers choosing an XL can specify the Tremor Off-Road Package when the truck also has the STX Appearance Package. That brings factory off-road equipment to the value-focused end of the Super Duty range instead of requiring a more expensive trim.

Crew Cab with the long bed
The 2027 Tremor is also available on a Crew Cab with an 8-foot bed. Ford specifies a 176-inch wheelbase for this configuration. Its factory equipment includes 35-inch tires, a factory lift, an electronic-locking rear differential and a 48-gallon fuel tank.
The long-bed Tremor answers a practical question for buyers who need both passenger room and maximum bed length. Its longer wheelbase can affect maneuverability and breakover behavior compared with a shorter-bed truck, so buyers should confirm trail access and parking constraints before ordering.
XL off-road packages: 33 inches versus 35 inches
Ford has renamed the previous XL Off-Road Package as the XL Off-Road 33-Inch Tire Package and added the more capable XL Off-Road 35-Inch Tire Package. Both can be ordered with the available Ford Performance 12,000-pound Warn winch.

The 35-inch package is deliberately understated: Ford says its exterior is unbranded for business and government users. That makes it different from a lifestyle-only appearance package while retaining specialized hardware underneath.
What the driver-assistance modes do
- Trail Control: helps manage low-speed progress off road.
- Trail Turn Assist: reduces turning radius in tight terrain by managing wheel speed.
- Rock Crawl Mode: changes truck operation for very slow, technical surfaces.
These systems do not replace tire selection, recovery equipment or driver judgment. Payload, axle rating and the chosen body configuration still determine what the truck can safely carry.
Platinum luxury reaches Chassis Cab trucks
Platinum trim is new for F-350, F-450 and F-550 Chassis Cab models. Ford describes Platinum-grade interior treatment, leather seating surfaces and SYNC 4, extending a more refined cab to Class 3, 4 and 5 work trucks.

Who benefits
- Overlanding builders: a high-grade cab before an expedition body is installed.
- Luxury toy-hauler owners: premium surroundings while retaining a heavy-duty chassis.
- Owner-operators: a more comfortable daily workplace when the body behind the cab represents a major investment.
Platinum changes the cab, not the upfit. Buyers still need to verify chassis ratings, wheelbase, mounting requirements, electrical interfaces and the finished vehicle’s payload after a service body, camper or other equipment is installed.
Carhartt package: branded equipment on XLT
The Super Duty Carhartt Package is available on XLT Crew Cab, single-rear-wheel, four-wheel-drive pickups with 40/console/40 seating. It combines workwear styling with functional equipment:
- Tough Bed spray-in bedliner with a Carhartt logo.
- Carhartt-inspired cloth seats and stitching plus branded interior details.
- Premium all-weather floor mats.
- Textured off-road running boards.
- LED marker, clearance, reflector, fog and center high-mounted stop lamps.
It is not the same as Tremor or the XL 35-inch package: the Carhartt equipment list does not establish Tremor suspension, 35-inch tires, locking differentials or trail modes.

Ford lists two 2027 Super Duty engines:

Ford’s consumer materials headline maximums of 40,000 pounds of gooseneck towing and 7,900 pounds of payload. Those are lineup-level maximums, not guarantees for every truck. Actual ratings depend on engine, cab, bed, axle, drive system, equipment, hitch, cargo, passengers and other options. Use the door-jamb label, owner’s manual and truck-specific towing guide for a purchase or haul plan.

Choose XL Tremor or XL 35-inch when capability comes first
XL Tremor with STX is the route to factory Tremor equipment at the XL level. The XL 35-inch package is the more explicitly specified choice when you want skid plates, trail modes, performance shocks and both front and rear traction hardware without a branded exterior.
Choose the long-bed Crew Cab Tremor for people and cargo
This is the specialized answer for buyers who need a full-size back seat, an 8-foot bed and Tremor’s 35-inch-tire hardware. Confirm that the 176-inch wheelbase works at your usual sites.

Choose Platinum Chassis Cab for a premium upfit platform
Platinum is the logical choice when the cab is part of a six-figure work or recreational build and comfort matters as much as the chassis. Have the upfitter calculate completed payload and axle loads rather than relying on the unmodified chassis rating.
Choose Carhartt XLT for workwear identity
The Carhartt package suits an XLT Crew Cab 4×4 owner who wants durable, branded details and lighting equipment without claiming the specialized off-road hardware of Tremor.
What to verify before ordering
- Confirm that the desired package is offered with your exact F-250, F-350, F-450 or F-550 configuration, cab, bed and rear-wheel setup.
- Check the truck-specific payload and tow ratings after every option, including winch, fifth-wheel or gooseneck equipment and dealer-installed accessories.
- For an upfit, provide the body builder with wheelbase, chassis-cab dimensions, electrical needs and target finished weight.
- Ask the dealer to verify order-bank status, regional availability, incentives and the current price because these can change during the model year.
- For the Warn winch, verify Ford-listed fitment and availability for the selected XL package before purchasing.
The Bottom Line
The 2027 Super Duty’s advantage is choice: XL buyers gain serious factory off-road hardware, the Tremor can finally combine a Crew Cab with an 8-foot bed, and Platinum brings a luxury cab to F-350 through F-550 Chassis Cab trucks.
